Senior Manager Revenue and Commission Manager

 

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Revenue Accounting Manager to join our team in Bangalore, India. 

Revenue Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the commissions operations process, ensuring accurate and timely calculation and payment of commissions to our sales team. For revenue accounting, this position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of worldwide revenue accounting and order-to-cash operations by providing leadership, accounting expertise, business sense, and a strong desire to improve processes and controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commissions operations management, in-depth knowledge of revenue accounting operations under ASC 606, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced public company environment. The candidate must have strong organization and communication skills, be detail oriented and hands-on. This role will be required to work in the US

(Pacific Time) hours, which is 9:00pm-6:00am IST.

Responsibilities:

Revenue Accounting Support the month-end and quarter-end close for revenue accounting including

but not limited review of the reconciliations and data validations/analysis

Review sales arrangements to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with

US GAAP and internal policies Work collaboratively with IT, Revenue Operations, Professional Services, and FP&A to drive best practices in revenue Support quarterly and year-end audit requests and drive issue resolution Drive or assist in ad hoc projects and analysis for continued optimization of our revenue processes Commissions Operations Oversee the end-to-end commissions operations process, including commission calculations, data validation, and payment processing.

Help develop and maintain commission policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Collaborate with Sales Ops, Sales, FP&A, Commission Accounting, Audit, and HR teams on commission data, such as sales performance, quotas, earnings,

payments, and other relevant information. Analyze and reconcile commissions data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.

Generate and distribute commission reports and statements to sales team members and management.

Provide guidance and support sales team members on commission-related inquiries, disputes, and escalations.

 

Managerial responsibilities

Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes

related to commissions operations, and implement necessary changes to ensure

compliance. Train and mentor junior team members, as needed.

Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency

and effectiveness of the commission operations process.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.

CPA highly preferred

Big 4 Public accounting experience or equivalent highly preferred

Mix of 5+ years of public accounting and SaaS/Software industry experience

Advanced knowledge of ASC 606 revenue accounting guidance

the sales or financial services industry.

 

Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross- functional teams and handle commission-related inquiries and disputes.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Google Suite

Ability to mentor and train junior team members.

A team player with a positive, “can do” attitude

Experience supporting Deals Desk, Legal and/or Sales team

during the deal negotiations for revenue compliance preferred

Experience with CRM/HRIS systems like Salesforce and Workday is preferred.

For revenue accounting, experience with systems including Zuora RevPro,

NetSuite, Salesforce and FinancialForce preferred

Strong understanding of sales compensation plans, commission structures, and

related calculations. Proficient in using commission management tools and software.
