Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is seeking a passionate and qualified Research Associate/Assistant in machine learning and AI to lead a research project investigating the use of digital biomarkers to predict student mental health condition. This project offers a perfect opportunity to fulfill our mission of prioritizing student well-being and engaging in impactful research. Key Responsibilities:
Establish a data acquisition pipeline with external collaborators.
Develop predictive AI and machine learning models for mental health applications using data extracted from wearables.
Analyzing and interpret data acquired and draft insightful reports and presentations summarizing research findings, methodology, and potential implications.
Publish research findings in top-tier journals and conferences.
Manage project timelines, budget, and resources effectively to ensure deliverables are met.
Foster a collaborative research environment and provide guidance and support to team members.
Develop presentations and reports tailored for diverse audiences, including academic and non-academic stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of grant proposals to secure funding for future research projects.
Key Competencies and Requirements:
A minimum of a B.Eng. or equivalent qualification in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience in developing predictive machine learning models
Experience using database interrogation and analysis tools.
Strong understanding of data analytics theory, enabling the transformation of raw data into meaningful insights that address research questions.
Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills.
Advanced coding and data processing skills to efficiently execute research ideas.
Strong proficiency in programming languages.
Active listening skills to effectively understand project requirements.
Initiative and resilience to explore new approaches if initial plans require adjustment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong self-motivation are essential.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills to present complex information to audiences unfamiliar with data analysis methods.
Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
