Director Store Development (Remote Eligible)

About Your Role:

As a Director of Store Development at Dollar Tree’s corporate office, you’ll manage store development, including new store openings, renovations and special projects to include new formats for Dollar Tree stores.  The position is responsible for defining and executing all opening processes and schedules to ensure we deliver new stores, renovations and special projects at brand standard level.  In addition, this position will partner with key department business owners identifying process improvements to support company growth.  This position will also manage and coordinate brand development and integrity as it relates to décor and store environments for all banners.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team to ensure all new stores and special project stores are opened on time and within budget
  • Ensure all new and special project stores are sales effective and meet company standards
  • Responsible for providing feedback regarding store opening processes to all business owners
  • Identify and implement process improvements for the new store opening process to support company growth plans
  • Travel to new stores and special projects and partner with team members to analyze gaps, areas of opportunity, and expectations
  • Provide training in technical skills and key competencies in conjunction with the Operations Development departments
  • Meet with the appropriate departments to coordinate budgeting based on prioritized store needs
  • Manage capital and expense for special projects including budgets, timelines and partnering on store selection
  • Manage and support labor for projects including 3rd party, store development and stores
  • Serve in a leadership role focused on providing organization and management to all special projects related to retail store environments

Your Required Skills and Experience:

  • 7 to 10 years of leadership experience in Retail or Store development
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage organizational and process changes to achieve business goals. 
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Proven ability to build relationship/partnerships with business partners and vendors.
  • Ability to utilize strong, effective written and verbal communication across all lines of business.

Start Rate = $160,000-$200,000 based on experience plus 25% bonus and equity.
