The Role: Business Analyst - Price Assessment Workflows
The Team: Price Assessment Workflows is part of the Business Operations Group which is a shared service across the S&P Global Commodity Insights Content creation group and is responsible for creating and managing back-end templates and business rules that enables S&P Global Platts to publish a wealth of data and authored content across multiple delivery channels. The team also acts as second line support for queries raised by business and troubleshoot issues on real time system. Price Assessment Workflows consists of 3 teams across India, UK, and US. All teams work very closely to provide nearly 24/5 coverage and are at the forefront of defining future state architecture for the price assessment process and this role will be central to evolving our operating model.
The Impact: S&P Global Commodity Insights publishes over 20,000 price assessments and various benchmarks every day and growing. Generating accurate and timely information is crucial as our customers rely on this information to help them make decisions every day therefore an eye for detail, problem solving, decision making, building repeatable processes and excellent communication is vital for this role.

Responsibilities:
To support the editorial staff across Commodity Insights worldwide offices (Europe, Americas, and Asia) using editorial systems to produce price assessments, market news and commentaries for Commodity Insights real-time services and publications.
Lead discussions and technical implementation of any methodology changes for MRTS price assessments.
Work with price reporters, observe how they use workflows, Price Assessment platforms, & templates and suggest areas of improvements to increase productivity and data quality.
Brainstorm best ways to create new workflows for emerging markets with editorial leadership.
Liaise with local MRTS Price Assessment leadership to understand upcoming markets and projects and plan with rest of the PAW team to ensure we launch those markets as and when needed.
Work with global Price Assessment Workflows team members on methodology projects, maintain the quality and to discuss way to improve the delivery.
Work closely with Local Price reporters to gather requirements, perform analysis, write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria for MRTS methodology and non-methodology projects.
Lead or work independently to manage backlogs through Azure Devops every day, solving problems, and deliver them on agreed timeline.
Effectively communicate with stakeholders for smooth project execution and facilitate the Scrum team and related processes.
Work with the development team to design and develop the solution to meet the business requirements and ensure that workflows are designed as per need of price reporters.
Work on data lineage, perform data mapping to identify data gaps and work with business users to source the additional information required.
Lead User Acceptance testing with Price Reporters and support UAT activities by providing insights on test cases and data to test the new changes.
Evaluate changes required to accommodate future requirements / changes in business process and solicit stakeholders’ feedback on delivery to identify areas of improvement.
Provide post implementation support to Price Reporters and to Design and Production team.
Provide second line support for production issues and escalating as necessary, analyze them and put necessary actions in place to mitigate for future.
Work with stakeholders on system migration and other strategic initiatives.
Guide editorial through Price Corrections and keep an eye around Post MOC time of the day for the region.
Conduct root cause analysis to determine appropriate action plans for issues.
Provide onsite support and remote support for the company’s business continuity plan at the disaster recovery site. Cover for any bank holidays and other scenarios and to do whatever takes to get our contents out to customers on time.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Minimum 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst
Minimum of 1-year experience in data Lineage, standards and analysis, with excellent understanding of Agile, scrum and LEAN methodologies and different technologies applicable to real-time services
Experience working with a Project lifecycle methodology with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of these is an advantage: Power BI and Tableau, Python, CSS, HTML, XML, Git, Database knowledge including SQL, MS Visio, Windows environment, Commodities markets.
Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate these requirements into unambiguous, testable requirements with clear acceptance criteria.
Develop/articulate detailed documentation on business standards, guidelines, and processes.
Able to handle defect tracking process, issue resolution and escalation procedures.
Strong skills in critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, verbal and written communications, negotiation, collaboration, and interpersonal interactions
Strong Prioritisation and able to manage multiple deadlines effectively while maintaining high quality, flag and escalate issues when necessary and attention to detail are paramount for this role.
