Location: Grande Vista Sales Gallery (11501 International Dr, Orlando, FL)

Schedule:

  • Tuesday through Saturday (40 hours), 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm
  • Additional hours may be available per business need

Pay Range: $19.80 per hour

Job Summary

Patrols all areas of the property; assists associates, visitors, and contractors. Monitors Closed Circuit Televisions (CCT), perimeter alarm system, duress alarms, and fire life safety system. Locks property entrances when required. Conducts daily physical hazard inspections.

Responds to accidents, contacts EMS or administers first aid/CPR as required. Assists owners, guests, and associates during emergency situations. Notifies appropriate individuals in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents. Defuses associates, visitors, and contractors. disturbances. Calls for outside assistance if necessary. Completes incident reports to document all Loss Prevention-related incidents. Handles all interruptions and complaints. Resolves safety hazard situations. Escorts any unwelcome persons from the property without interrupting the orderly flow of property operation. Reports to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts. Calls for assistance using proper code responses.

Completes a Safety and Security shift summary/daily activity report. Maintains confidentiality of all Safety and Security and property reports/documents; releases information only to authorized individuals. Conducts investigations and gathers evidence. Conducts interviews with relevant parties.  

Expected Contributions

  • Reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and completes safety training and certifications. 
  • Follows all company policies and procedures, ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintains confidentiality of proprietary information, and protects company assets. 
  • Welcomes and acknowledges all associates, visitors, and contractors according to company standards, anticipates and addresses associates, visitors, and contractor's service needs, assists individuals with disabilities, and thanks owners/guests with genuine appreciation. 
  • Provides escort services for associates, visitors, or contractors within the facility when requested, ensuring their safety and well-being during transit.
  • Speaks with others using clear and professional language, prepares and reviews written documents accurately and completely, and answers telephones using appropriate etiquette. 
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others, supports team to reach common goals, and listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of other associates. 
  • Complies with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Stands, sits, or walks for an extended period or for an entire work shift. 
  • Moves, lifts, carries, pushes, pulls, and places objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. 
  • Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

  • Is available and willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Surveillance/Patrol

  • Conducts property patrols on foot equipped with necessary gear (e.g., flashlight and high visibility jacket), to secure all areas including the interior, exterior, and parking garage. Ensures the safety and access of associates, visitors, contractors, and meeting rooms.
  • Keep vigilant watch for the presence of third-party criminals or homeless individuals in the vicinity, taking appropriate actions as needed in accordance with established security protocols.
  • Mitigate incidents and disturbances related to retail F&B operations located in adjacent buildings, particularly during operating hours when patrons may be intoxicated.
  • Monitors Closed Circuit Televisions (CCTV), perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems to ensure that any unusual behavior or emergency is dispatched to appropriate personnel for investigation and recorded.
  • Utilizes security console systems to monitor and respond to security alarms and notifications promptly.
  • Locks property entrances during designated times.
  • Conducts daily physical hazard inspections and reports any unsafe conditions or work practices.

Incident/Emergency Response

  • Responds to the scene of associates, visitors, and contractor's accidents and determine if emergency aid is required.
  • Administers first aid/CPR to associates, visitors, and contractors as required.
  • Assists associates, visitors, and contractors during emergency situations, such as fire, evacuation, flood, severe weather, bomb threat, robbery, natural disasters, etc.
  • Notifies manager/supervisor, local police, or other appropriate individuals in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents.
  • Communicates specified information regarding associates, visitors, and contractor's accidents to EMS/medical personnel as required.
  • Defuses associates, visitors, and contractors' disturbances/altercations in accordance with the company policies and procedures, including summoning appropriate authorities if necessary, and documenting incidents.
  • Completes incident reports to document all Safety and Security related incidents such as theft, accidents, physical hazards, and fire alarms.
  • Handles business interruptions and complaints, such as suspicious individuals, civil disturbances or demonstrations, noise complaints, intoxicated individuals, etc.
  • Resolves safety hazard situations.
  • Escorts any unwelcome persons (e.g., trespassers, loiterers) from the property without interrupting the orderly flow of property operation.
  • Reports to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts and document all required information.
  • Follows dispatching procedures during emergency situations, by using proper code responses, ensuring a swift and coordinated response from relevant personnel.
  • Counsel associates on appropriate emergency response according to existing security protocols.

Investigations / Reports

  • Completes a Safety and Security shift summary/daily activity report to ensure that all information is properly logged.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all Safety and Security and property reports/documents and releases information only to authorized individuals.
  • Conducts investigations and gathers evidence related to theft/fraud or lost items, noise complaints, assault complaints, food poisoning complaints, and other associates, visitors, and contractor’s complaints and incidents.
  • Conducts interviews with relevant parties in order to obtain statements and information related to incidents.

Safety and Security

  • Follows company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Uses proper equipment, wears appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employs correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury.
  • Maintains awareness of suspicious persons on property premises.
  • Reports work-related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.

Policies and Procedures

  • Protects the privacy and security of visitors, contractors, and coworkers.
  • Ensures uniform, nametags, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.
  • Follows company and department policies and procedures.
  • Protects company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct interviews with relevant parties in order to obtain statements and information related to incidents.
  • Performs other reasonable job duties as requested.

Associates, Visitors, and Contractors Relations

  • Addresses associates, visitors, and contractors' service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.
  • Aids individuals with disabilities, including assisting visually, hearing, or physically impaired individuals within guidelines (e.g., escorting them when requested, using words to explain actions, writing directions on paper, moving objects out of the way, or offering access to Braille or TDD phones).
  • Actively listens and responds positively to associates, visitors, and contractor's questions, concerns, and requests using brand or property-specific processes (e.g., LEARN, PLEASED, etc.) to resolve issues and build trust.
  • Welcomes and acknowledges each associate, visitor, and contractor with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using their name when possible.
  • Thanks associates, visitors, and contractors with genuine appreciation and provides a fond farewell.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • High school diploma / G.E.D. equivalent required.

Experience

  • No related work or supervisory experience is required; 1-2 years of security and/or safety experience preferred.

Technical Certifications and Licenses

  • Valid and current Driver’s License – Candidates who receive an offer of employment will be required to undergo a complete background check, including but not limited to motorist records and drug test.
  • The following certifications are required either at the time of hire or within the first 90 days of employment. Company will provide training and testing to certify if needed:
    • First Aid & CPR certification
    • TIPS certification (Training for Intervention Procedures)
    • CLSO certification (Certified Lodging Security Officer)
