Atrium Health Levine Children’s is seeking an experienced and passionate RN Nurse Manager to lead the Beverly Knight Olson Pediatric Emergency Department. This leader will play a key role in driving clinical excellence, operational performance, and a culture of compassionate, family‑centered care in one of the region’s premier pediatric emergency settings.

About the Unit

The Pediatric Emergency Department at Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital provides specialized, high‑acuity emergency care to infants, children, and adolescents. Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to delivering timely, evidence‑based care while supporting children and families during critical moments.

Position Summary

The RN Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Pediatric Emergency Department, including clinical quality, patient safety, staff engagement, throughput, and operational efficiency. This role partners closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional outcomes and experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 leadership oversight for the Pediatric Emergency Department
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of nurses and support staff
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high‑quality, evidence‑based pediatric emergency care
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, productivity, and budgetary performance
  • Drive performance improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and patient safety standards
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth
  • Partner with medical leadership and hospital administration to achieve departmental and organizational goals
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and engagement of nursing staff

Qualifications

  • Current RN license (or eligible) in Georgia or compact state
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN or higher preferred
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in Emergency Services or Pediatrics
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric emergency care standards, quality metrics, and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to lead change, manage operations, and develop teams
  • National nursing leadership or specialty certification preferred (e.g., NE-BC, CEN, CPEN)
