The Opportunity
This position is based out of our Donegal site in the Abbott Diabetes Care division where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology. As the Operations Support Lead you’ll have the chance to work in a continuous improvement and innovative environment with team members sharing a vision of improving the lives of millions around the world. You will be responsible for leading on all aspects of production support for Sensor Operations at ADC Donegal. As an effective leader of a multi discipline support team, this role ensures manufacturing performance is optimized through operating systems, material and inventory management, Maximo and resource management.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting, managing and planning all aspects of manufacturing support on volumes, yields and throughputs rate while maintaining the highest levels of product quality
Leading on cross functional collaboration to maintain excellent working relationships, while executing decisions in full consideration of financial, technical, legal, regulatory and quality, EHS standards
Oversight and governance of all operating systems that support day to day manufacturing
Lead on driving margin growth through manufacturing and inventory efficiencies including manufacturing optimization
Responsible for the collation of process and production data to ensure that all manufacturing business units are supported through the relevant reports and metrics.
Responsible for financial and resource governance for Sensor Operations
Leads and develops a high performing team that are aligned with business strategy and are both empowered and accountable to deliver sustained results
Ensures the attraction and development of SMEs to provide a strong long term leadership pipeline. Supports the movement and assignment of talent within the business.
Sponsor and lead projects to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the quality system and manufacturing processes, adhering to all compliance and regulatory requirements within the ADC Quality System.
Education and Years Experience:
Third level qualification in Science, Business or Engineering
5 years’ experience in manufacturing or equivalent environment, including 3 years supervisor experience.
Accountability/Scope:
Reporting to the Operations Manager
