Asset Tracking Analyst

Full time or Part time

Location: Leeds with flexibility for home working

The Asset Tracking Analyst will be part of the British Gas Energy team. The Role

We're seeking an analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our Asset Management Team as an Asset Tracking Analyst.  You'll use data analytics to optimize metering operations, forecast asset needs, and ensure we meet commercial and regulatory targets. You’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining asset management and metering reports, ensuring we're always ahead of the curve.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Analyse metering data to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Create and maintain asset management reports.
  • Support the Smart meter rollout and ongoing operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance and recommend process improvements.
  • Design and maintain data models, databases, and dashboards for metering data storage and analysis.
  • Develop and automate data reporting processes to provide regular performance updates.
  • Create comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing findings, insights, and recommendations.
  • Leverage analytical capabilities to conduct non-standard analysis and drive informed business decisions.
  • Provide essential reporting, metrics, and insights to support the wider Metering team's activities and objectives.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the asset lifecycle, both systematically and operationally, and be aware of the challenges faced by operational teams.

You’ll have a track record of:

  • Proven expertise in data management and reporting.
  • Extensive experience with Power BI.
  • Desirable experience with Databricks.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to and effectively use specialized software systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • An understanding of the metering industry is beneficial.
