About the role:
To provide clinical services, including outpatient services and specialist expertise in the management of medical oncology patients under your care, and to develop basic or translational research within the Kinghorn Cancer Centre.

Selection Criteria:

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
  • Possess, or be eligible for, specialist registration in Medical Oncology with the Medical Board of Australia;
  • Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent as per Staff Specialist NSW State Award;
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical practice in medical oncology commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position with particular expertise and interest in Head and Neck and lung cancer, with at least 2 years of post-fellowship work or further training in these areas is desirable
  • Experience in publishing high-quality research (basic, translational or clinical research, or informatics) relevant to the development of new knowledge and practices, commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment.  A higher qualification such as a PhD or MD, or work already in progress towards such a qualification, is preferred;
  • Ability to build and support teams, embrace change, earn respect, and foster loyalty;
  • Ability to provide compassionate care as evidenced by recent experience in a multidisciplinary team environment;
  • A demonstrated commitment to teaching at specialty registrar, junior medical officer and/or undergraduate levels
