Clario, a leader in endpoint data technology solutions for the clinical research industry, is expanding its operations in Budapest and seeks a Data Privacy Attorney.

In this role, you will acti as an individual contributor to the Data Privacy Team, ensures compliance with Clario’s data privacy and security governance program (“Program”) processes and initiatives for the organization.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist with producing Program documentation, including privacy risk assessments, risk analyses, incident reports, ISO 27701 compliance management and related artifacts.

  • Assist with receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and acting on privacy incidents, where required.

  • Assist with documenting privacy and security regulations, and associated compliance requirements, and work with business to ensure Program requirements are addressed.

  • Assist with ensuring applicable privacy and security requirements are incorporated into Policies, SOPs, and other controls, implemented for a project, product, or platform.

  • Assist with implementing data processing agreements to ensure applicable Program concerns, requirements, and responsibilities are addressed.

  • Act as a data privacy and compliance liaison to the business, to ensure compliance with applicable data privacy laws and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and ISO 27701.

  • Maintain all related Program data in the central database to ensure that accurate and concise information is obtained and captured to allow reporting of Program-related obligations.

  • Provide general support and assistance to the Data Protection Officer and Data Privacy Department leadership, when necessary, including filing, generating outgoing correspondence, archiving, obtaining contract signatures, and any other privacy and security-related projects necessary to support the Program.

  • Participate in Data Privacy Department meetings, and other departmental meetings, as needed.

  • Analyze, review, and negotiate privacy and security client and vendor contract terms, conditions, and obligations, as assigned.

Other duties will include:

  • Coordinate with internal Clario stakeholders, including IT and Security, on related items.

  • Attend client meetings and participate on client calls individually and/or with other members of the Data Privacy Department, as needed.

  • Provide other support, as necessary, as directed by the Data Privacy Department leadership, such as supporting any requirements for Program monitoring.

What we look for

  • Law degree from an accredited institution.

  • Membership in good standing with a national Bar association.

  • 1 - 3 years of relevant experience, preferably with exposure to data privacy and security compliance.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.

  • Excellent research and writing skills.

  • Ability to manage and communicate with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced work environment. 

  • Effective organizational, analytical, confidentiality, multi-tasking, and time management skills.

  • An in-depth understanding of GDPR, ISO27701, and international privacy law.

  • Excellent judgment, attention to detail, communication and direct customer skills, plus the ability to work as part of a team as well as an individual contributor.

  • Should be able to travel domestically and internationally (~5-10%).
