Job Description

  • Perform permanent changes like Add / Remove jobs to Scheduler.
  • Good Knowledge on TWS tool.
  • Add or remove job dependencies in Scheduler.
  • Build and maintain Scheduler frequencies and calendars.
  • Create and Maintain DSN Trigger Jobs and Rules
  • Ability to investigate job sysouts.
  • Knowledge in Scheduler Logs and Syslog to find out the issue.
  • Scheduler resource create, modify and delete.
  • Verify scheduling, rerun or restart information.
  • Provide weekend support in bringing up Scheduler.
  • Provide support for Control product testing. (when MVS does upgrades - make sure the Scheduler is working)
  • Provide technical assistance for all Scheduler related issues (7/24 - Support)
  • Perform as Level 2 support for all scheduling issues and provide resolution 24x7
  • Review daily Operations Log reports for abends. For any reoccurring abends the support reps must be notified and get the issues resolved. 
  • Monthly Batch Metrics reporting Knowledge.
  • Create and Maintain Scheduler job documentation.

Disaster Recovery

  • Attend all Disaster Recovery Planning meetings leading up to actual exercise.
  • Build the Scheduler batch(s) schedules for Disaster Recovery exercise.
  • Load Scheduler schedule(s) for Disaster Recovery purposes.
  • Work directly with Customer and DR team during the actual DR to execute batch.
