About the Role

The Specialist, APAC Publicity is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and execution of publicity campaigns across Theatrical and Streaming content. This role works closely with regional and local market teams, external agencies, media partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver impactful publicity initiatives and media engagements that support business objectives across APAC markets.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with strong project management capabilities, good knowledge of the media and entertainment landscape, and experience managing complex logistics across multiple markets. They should be comfortable coordinating multiple workstreams simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Publicity Campaigns

  • Support the planning and execution of integrated publicity campaigns across assigned Studio and Disney+ titles and franchises.
  • Support and manage publicity activities including press conferences, media junkets and interviews (virtual and in-person), premieres, and special events.
  • Partner with local publicity teams across APAC to align and support in-market publicity campaigns and activities.
  • Manage the distribution of publicity assets, materials, and information between headquarters and APAC local markets.
  • Coordinate media requests, approvals, and publicity-related communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the distribution and management of screeners across APAC markets, including coordinating requests, approvals, access, tracking, and embargo communications.

Event Management

  • Lead end-to-end logistics planning and execution for publicity events, media tours, junkets and talent engagements.
  • Coordinate travel, accommodation, ground transportation, itineraries, accreditation, and hospitality requirements for talent, filmmakers and media attendees.
  • Develop and manage detailed schedules, interview grids, run-of-shows, and briefing materials to ensure seamless execution of publicity activities.
  • Oversee external agencies, vendors, and production partners supporting event operations and logistics.
  • Identify operational risks and develop contingency plans to ensure smooth event delivery.
  • Manage on-site operations and resolve issues in real time to ensure successful event execution and deliver a positive experience for all stakeholders.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with teams across Disney Entertainment to ensure cohesive integrated marketing and publicity efforts.
  • Act as a central point of contact for campaign updates, operational communications and stakeholder coordination.

Reporting & Administration

  • Monitor and analyse media coverage related to Studio and Disney+ content and relevant industry trends.
  • Compile coverage reports, press reviews, campaign updates and post-event recaps.
  • Support budget tracking, vendor management, purchase orders, invoicing, and procurement processes.
  • Coordinate contracting and vendor onboarding processes, including liaising with Legal, Finance, Procurement, and external vendors to ensure timely execution of agreements.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the publicity team as required.

Requirements - Experiences:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in publicity, communications, public relations, entertainment marketing, events, or a related industry.
  • Proven experience managing integrated publicity campaigns and media relations.
  • Experience working with talent, entertainment content, events, or consumer brands is preferred.
  • Experience managing agencies and multiple stakeholders across markets.
  • Strong understanding of APAC media landscapes and cultural nuances.

Requirements - Skills:

  • Interest and knowledge of The Walt Disney Company’s key brands - Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, 20th Century Studios, National Geographic and Star.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and stakeholder management skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proactive self-starter with sound judgement, strong adaptability, and a solutions-oriented mindset; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Keynote.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop, Premiere Pro) is an advantage.
  • Multilingualism is a plus (Mandarin/ Korean/ Japanese).
  • Flexible and willing to support publicity events outside standard business hours as required.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
