Position Summary
Responsible for assisting pharmacy administrative activities. 

  • Maintains inventory levels by placing orders and/or receiving drugs/medical supplies.
  • Stocks pharmacy with appropriate drugs and supplies and orders pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Receives and routes telephone calls, arranges shipment dates, and assists in referral intake as needed. 
  • Maintains patient files, generated prescription paperwork/labels, and clinical paperwork. 
  • Creates communication notes based on patient contact.
  • Gathers supplies/equipment for patient orders in preparation for shipment/delivery
  • Prepares pharmaceuticals for future compounding and non-compounded pharmaceuticals. Packs and ships pharmaceuticals to patients.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma; some college preferred.
  • Valid Technician License that is active and in good standing in the jurisdiction where they practice is required
  • Experience in PC skills in Windows-based applications
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented, customer service focused, and able to identify process improvements
  • Detail orientated and time management  to work independently
  • Responsive, reliable and able to express assurance/confidence
  • Understand the importance of timely work and effective planning.
  • Prioritizing and organizing workload in adherence to deadlines.

Physical Demands:

  • Constant sitting, walking and standing with occasional kneeling and stooping
  • Specific vision abilities to include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus 
  • Constant talking and hearing 
  • Constant use of hands and fingers, handle or feel objects with the ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 



Preferred Qualifications

  • National Certification (CPhT) preferred
  • At least 1 year of data management or administrative experience, specifically tracking documentation and ensuing follow-up on processes
  • Minimum one year of related experience in coordinating activities, administrative support functions, and customer service.
  • Preferred experience working with healthcare insurance and medical terminology
  • Prior Experience as a pharmacy technician, patient representative, or customer service representative preferred. 
  • Skill in Tracking patient information, working with HIPPA covered documents
  • Desire and aptitude to assist a customer with escalated concerns and provide final resolutions.
  • Ability to respond to escalated concerns in a calm and professional manner in attempts to prevent further escalations.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong time management skills.

High School Diploma or General Equivalent Development
(GED)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$17.00 - $28.46

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
