About the Role

The Manager, Partner Technical Managers (PTM) role is a unique blend of leadership and hands-on execution. As the leader of the Japan PTM team, you will be responsible for developing and empowering a high-performing team while also directly serving as the PTM for a select set of strategic partners. This dual focus ensures you stay close to partner needs and market realities, while scaling partner success across the region.

You will serve as a technical advisor, evangelist, and strategic collaborator, ensuring that Pure Storage’s channel partners are enabled with the expertise, tools, and support required to drive autonomous success. The PTM Manager plays a critical role in bridging sales, engineering, and the partner ecosystem to deliver sustainable growth in partner-led revenue, new logo acquisition, and portfolio expansion.

 

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, coach, and mentor the Japan PTM team, driving performance and growth in line with organizational KPIs.
• Manage and guide the Partner Portal Content Manager and Technical Enablement personnel, setting direction on partner website content, training initiatives, and enablement goals.
• Build and execute an annual operating plan for the PTM team to achieve measurable business outcomes.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the PTM organization.
  
  

Direct Partner Ownership

• Act as PTM for a select group of strategic partners, driving technical enablement, sales support, and long-term business growth.
• Build trusted relationships with partner executives, technical leaders, and sales teams.
• Deliver presentations, workshops, and training to elevate partner independence and technical capabilities.
  
  

Partner Enablement & Evangelism

• Design and execute technical and sales enablement programs to drive partner autonomy in positioning and selling Pure’s solutions (FlashArray, FlashBlade, Portworx, etc.).
• Represent Pure Storage at partner events, marketing initiatives, and industry forums as a subject matter expert in modern infrastructure, AI/ML, and DevOps.
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Align closely with Sales, Systems Engineering, Partner Account Managers, and Channel leadership to create and execute partner strategies.
• Serve as the conduit for partner feedback on market trends, technology needs, and product enhancements back to Pure’s global teams.
  
  

Sales & Business Impact

• Support partner-led opportunities throughout the sales cycle, from discovery and evaluation to closing.
• Monitor and report on partner technical enablement progress and business impact, identifying areas for continuous improvement.
• Drive Pure’s brand and technical leadership in the partner ecosystem, fueling portfolio-based growth.
