Director, Global Supplier Project Engineering
Position Overview:
The Supplier Development Engineering (SDE) team is responsible for all supplier projects with regards to safety, service, capacity, cost, supply strategy etc. The SDE team manages a global supply base and sources precision components from around the world for use in its devices.
The Director is a key member of the Supplier Development Engineering group, embedded in Insulet’s Global Operations organization. This position will lead a Supplier Engineering team who are charged with leading supplier projects for production capital tooling.
The Director, Global Supplier Engineering, works closely with peers and leaders in Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to manage and implement all SDE projects across the globe. This position must ensure technical projects are delivered for the enterprise while meeting rigorous financial standards. The Director, Global Project Engineering must be a seasoned people leader who has a passion for teaching, developing and mentoring employees in best practice methodologies for project execution. This role will report to the Senior Director of Supplier Development Engineering.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated technical project execution and engineering rigor. They also will have led teams through project management and challenging supplier projects. Worked to build supplier management of tools such as molds, stamping tools, springs etc. They will be responsible for execution of projects with significant capital allocations each year that includes financial and resource management.
Responsibilities:
Build, lead and manage high-performing project engineering team focused on new capital projects
Report to Supply Management leaders on project health, priorities and metrics
Owns and develops KPI’s and metrics associated with all capital projects that are transparent and easily accessible through Power BI
Coach and mentor team members with regards to project management and technical rigor
Hold accountability for project execution
Establish governance mechanisms to ensure financial accuracy
Coordinate with FP&A finance team to support CAPEX and OPEX financial operating rhythm

Education and Experience Minimum Requirements:
BS Engineering, MS or MBA preferred
10 years of career experience in Engineering, Project Management, Operations
Demonstrated (10 years) development of supplier tools (molds, stamping, machining) and automation preferred
Demonstrated engineering team leadership
Key Decision Rights:
Ownership of supplier engineering strategy and execution for projects
Influence supplier selection, validation planning, and component readiness for pilot and production tooling
Drive supplier process improvements and alignment with long-term automation and scalability goals

Additional Information:
Able to work in a Class 8 Cleanroom Environment as needed Role is based in Acton and the ideal candidate will be in office a minimum of 4 days a week Travel up to 25%, including international travel to suppliers and manufacturing sites.

Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $172,100.00 - $258,200.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
