What You’ll Do 

As a CAD Engineer, some of the work you do will be to:

  • Develop internal flows to help streamline tool usage within Silicon Labs  
  • Document and provide training on digital simulation flows for design teams and senior engineers 
  • Serve as a bridge between the tool vendor and Silicon Labs and perform tool evaluations/benchmarks and report (and track) bugs in the software to the vendor.  
  • Troubleshoot and debug simulation problems and resolve them through detailed analysis

You will need a combination some (not all) of the qualifications listed below:

  • Degree: Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering
  • Skills: Cadence, Virtuoso, Verilog, System Verilog, QRC, Calibre  PERL, Makefile, TCL, Python, System Verilog, VHDL, MATLAB, Verilog-AMS Wreal
  • Previous employment experience and/or strong knowledge:
    • Electrical Engineering fundamentals
    • RTL and Gate-level simulation 
    • Digital Design Verification Tools (e.g.: Incisive 
    • Real Number Modeling (Verilog-AMS Wreal or System Verilog UDN) is a plus  
    • Familiarity with Cortex-M based systems is a plus 
    • Familiarity with low-power designs in multiple power domains (e.g. 1801, CPF) is a plus 
    • Testbench design (using System Verilog or UVM) is a plus 
  • Previous coursework, projects,and/or internship experience: IoT, MCUs, semiconductors, SoCs, IC Design, VLSI Design, RF, Signal Processing, Fabrication, Circuit Theory
  • Extracurricular activities within organizations a plus 

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $76,300 - $175,500 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
