Speech-Language Pathologist

At NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center, our Speech-Language Pathologists help patients experiencing serious impairments connect with the world around them. Our team uses evidence-based practice and available technology to address swallowing, cognitive, and communication issues which allows us to provide high quality, patient-centered care, and ensure the best outcomes.  

In this position, you will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team with opportunities to work across the adult acute care setting with various diagnoses and patient complexity. This position will also help provide coverage on the inpatient rehabilitation unit and outpatient settings when needed. 

Per Diem Schedule: Consistent weekday availability with intermittent weekend and holiday coverage. Opportunity to pick up more shifts.

Preferred Criteria

  • 2 years of acute care experience, including ICU
  • Competency with MBSS and/or FEES
  • Specialized training in dysphagia and communication evaluations and treatment 

Required Criteria

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university
  • Licensure as a Speech Pathologist by the State of New York within one year of hire
  • Certification in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech and Hearing Association within one year of hire
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Knowledge of Speech Pathology
