POSITION SPECIFICS

The Undergraduate Admissions Office (UAO) is seeking a detail-oriented individual to fill the position of an Admissions Assistant at the Intermediate Support level on the Admissions Services and Evaluation Team (ASET). This position provides support to international and domestic students, as well as currently enrolled Penn State students, by processing, verifying, and validating a high volume of high school and collegiate transcripts and entering data into student records, and works closely with other staff that are also supporting Undergraduate Admissions' processes.  

 

Duties will include:

  • Utilize LionPATH student information system to update student application records

  • Respond to email inquiries in Slate (CRM) from prospective and current students asking about application files and related processes

  • Evaluate and index high school and collegiate documents and determine routing rules

  • Manage and update the status of applications through queries and reports

  • Verify and update high school graduation date or GED completion for students enrolling at Penn State

  • Utilize and be the subject matter expert of the STARS utility; review, analyze and verify students' high school records; train employees

  • Assist admission staff around the Commonwealth to locate documents, and help to resolve issues with student records

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software applications
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Have attention to detail, discretion with confidential data, strong customer service, organization, problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Have flexibility to learn and adapt to new software programs and solve problems in a changing environment
  • PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, DocFinity, and Slate experience is preferred

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

 

 

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
