As a Principal Cloud Solutions Architect you will be responsible for designing the end-to-end cloud based (Azure) solution architecture of the applications and data products across Manufacturing & Engineering within Global Supply Chain Data & AI organization.

This includes collaborating with product managers, product owners, other solution architects, data modelers, business intelligence developers, and data engineers from different data product and cross-functional teams.

The person will play a key role in translating product requirements into technical solution and ensuring the engineering teams are correctly implementing it.

Principal Cloud Solutions Architect

Key responsibilities:

  • Design end-to-end solutions architecture that would encompass storage & compute resources, front-end components, visualization components, virtual machines and other cloud resources as needed for the solution.
  • Blueprint and design of level 3 and above solutions like MES integration to ERP and PLM to create a digital thread.
  • Assessment and strategy identification for manufacturing and engineering driven products across GSK sites and factories
  • Design and execution of rapid prototyping of the product.
  • Being a single person of contact to articulate the solutions architecture to the review board to get the solution approved for implementation.
  • Ensuring the solution adheres compliance to the organization’s security and governance standards.
  • Functional expertise in Industry 4.0, IT-OT integration, industrial automation, Edge and IoT.
  • Design reference architecture and reusable components to optimize time to market the products.
  • Collaboration with architecture and infrastructure platform teams to implement governance strategies and policies.
  • Providing leadership, technical direction and expertise to architecture and engineering teams composed of full-time employees, strategic partners, and software vendors.
  • Pro-active engagement in experimentation and innovation to drive continuous improvement.
  • Driving a culture of innovation, transparency, and trust.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • 10+ years of experience in designing end-to-end solutions for cloud-based (Azure) data analytics products and web applications in Agile software development with excellent verbal and written articulation skills.
  • Experience with organizing cloud resources, applying governance policies, and enforcing compliance requirements.
  • Experience working on PLC, Edge and IoT devices.
  • Considerable experience in designing, development, testing and deployments of complex data pipelines in modern data platform using ADLS Gen2, Databricks, Spark, Python, Azure Data Factory for data ingestion, data integration and data consumption.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following qualifications, it would be a plus:

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
  • Pharma manufacturing industry experience and exposure to factory data integration.
  • Experience on regulated systems including GxP, SoX, HIPAA & GDPR
  • Azure administration and DevOps for CI/CD.
  • Project management experience, especially with Agile.
  • Experience in recommending solutions to optimize data storage and compute costs.
  • Experience in collaborating with platform and architecture teams for cloud infrastructure provisioning.
  • Knowledge and experience of building reusable components and frameworks for data ingestion and transformation jobs.
  • Ability to work with development and networking team to identify performance issues in data pipelines, reports/dashboards, and web applications.
  • Experience in designing secure and performant web applications using Azure App Service.
  • Experience in streaming data analytics and event driven architecture using Kafka or other technology.
  • Experience in designing reporting solutions using Power BI, ThoughtSpot or similar tools.
  • Experience of CI/CD implementations using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
