Salary/Grade: £50,232 - £62,000 per annum

Caterpillar Larne is home to the Electric Power business and its principal activity is in the design, manufacture, sale and support of quality standard and customised generator sets and bespoke associated equipment that provide reliable electric power around the world.

The opportunity
The Senior Product Consultant will support go-to-market initiatives, and sales execution as a subject matter expert on generator set controls, site level microgrid controls, paralleling sequences and system components.

You will be part of a global team supporting Caterpillar sales team, the Caterpillar dealer network sales team, and the service technician network, to provide our customers with the appropriate development of solutions to their energy needs.

What you will do:

  • Provide product application expertise at point of sale, or by delivering various types of product training including applied technology, job efficiency, and safety to customers, company and dealers' sales personnel.

  • Conduct product performance studies, assess customer job sites efficiency, collecting product and customer requirements in order to capitalize opportunities for incremental sales to create business case for product improvement process and new product introduction program.

  • Manage the marketing technology tools/systems and work with key stakeholders to develop a marketing technology product roadmap to drive business growth.

  • Collaborate with other internal teams to get alignment on timelines, understanding marketing goals, and developing the marketing technology product roadmap.

  • Oversee Percent of Industry Sales (PINS) trends, industry outlook, demand fluctuation and basic customer requirements.

  • Facilitates creation of the 'right' products and services from diesel and gas generators to off package control products in order to resolve customer business issues.

  • Fosters strong customer relationships via delivery on commitments, open communication, and on-going feedback/improvement.

  • Understanding of generator set controls, site level microgrid controls, paralleling sequences or system components.

  • Obtains information about product and service linkages with other products and services elsewhere in Caterpillar.

Additional information:
There is a 25% - 50% travel requirement to events or specific dealer/customer meetings.
