Great American's Executive Liability Division offers independent agents and brokers a specialized facility for Directors' and Officers' (D&O) Liability Insurance and related professional liability coverages, including Fiduciary Liability and Employment Practices Liability.

The Division has the capacity and strength to meet the needs of large, prestigious insureds, as well as small, local organizations. The division also has the capability to offer coverage to more difficult or non-standard D&O risks. Limits up to $25 million are available.

Executive Liability - Great American Insurance Group

Our Executive Liability Division is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team! This position will work on a hybrid schedule and will sit in our Schaumburg, IL office.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Participates in the analysis of internal and external data and performs statistical modeling to develop actionable insights and recommendations to management regarding business and product performance.

  • Develops data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends and extract knowledge from large, high dimensional data sets.

  • Translate business problems/opportunities into technical requirements and data science specifications.

  • Participates in the creation of solutions that enable enhanced business performance and decision making through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis and/or visualization techniques.

  • Participate in using artificial intelligence and machine learning to develop processes automation.

  • Researches and applies knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, computer science, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field or equivalent work experience is required. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience

Technical Skills:

Platforms: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R is essential. Familiarity with libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Pandas, and Matplotlib is also important. Statistical Analysis: Strong understanding of statistical methods and techniques.  Familiarity with predictive analytic models. Data Visualization: Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI., SSRS and Excel. Database Management: Ability to Query SQL and Snowflake and optimize queries.  Machine Learning and AI: Expertise in machine learning algorithms, artificial intelligence using and training machine learning models and Copilot Vectors.

Salary Range:

$100,000.00 -$120,000.00
