Job Summary: The NPI Engineer — Final Assembly is responsible for establishing and implementing the most cost‑efficient, safe, and quality‑compliant methods for final assembly production. This role plans and coordinates activities required to produce specified products, supports continuous improvement initiatives, manages change administration on the production floor, and ensures adherence to launch schedules and production targets. The ideal candidate has strong experience in manufacturing processes, project management, and new product introduction within a plant environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Develop and maintain process documentation and work instructions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Plan and coordinate production activities necessary to produce specified products, including builds, validations, and ramp-up.
  • Conduct direct labor studies and establish standards for operations, setups, and workstation layouts.
  • Define tooling and fixturing requirements and collaborate with tool designers for procurement and implementation.
  • Analyze manufacturing methods and standards and propose solutions to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives, work cell development, and material flow improvements.
  • Assist in equipment development and troubleshooting; review preliminary designs to optimize cost and quality.
  • Prepare capital equipment studies and make recommendations for capital expenditures.
  • Support departmental budgeting for material, manpower, equipment, and procurement.
  • Manage production and assembly, change administration and ensure smooth implementation on the floor.
  • Process purchase requisitions and maintain accurate procurement and project records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and complete company-provided training.
  • Lead problem resolution activities including root cause analysis, 8D, CAPA, and closure of corrective actions.
  • Perform special projects and other duties assigned to support manufacturing and NPI objectives.
  • Develop and maintain the PDP Manufacturing Plan for assigned products, ensuring alignment with PFMEA and validation activities.
  • Create and maintain a manufacturing standard cost model for new products to support launch decisions and make-vs-buy analysis.
  • Qualify and develop new assembly and joining specifications (including test and acceptance criteria) as required for product launches.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field.
  • Preferred credentials: MBA or Project Management Certification (PMP) desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in manufacturing engineering, with prior experience as a Process Engineer or similar role; experience in final assembly for aerospace, automotive, electronics, or electro‑mechanical products preferred.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, PFMEA, control plans, SPC, and change management.
  • Software skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD or other CAD software; advanced MS Office skills including Excel and MS Project.
  • Project management: Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Communication: Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to build rapport with U.S.‑based customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Additional preferred skills: Experience with automation, fixture/machinery design, electrical/functional testing, and e‑learning or training development.
  • Language: Fluent English.
