The Enterprise Data Platforms Organization enables the business functions with an integrated and intuitive Enterprise platform services in the field of Databases, Integration and Analytical Platform services.

We are seeking an experienced Tableau Platform Administrator to lead the design, deployment, and ongoing support of Tableau Server across enterprise environments. This role will focus on high-availability architecture, automation, governance, performance optimization, and platform scaling. The ideal candidate will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with infrastructure, security, and cloud services.

Roles & Responsibilities: Tableau Platform Administrator: (3-10 Years of Experience)

Platform Administration & Deployment

  • Lead installation, upgrades, and large-scale deployments of Tableau Server across Dev, QA, and Production environments.
  • Design high-availability, clustered, and failover configurations for enterprise Tableau environments.
  • Plan and execute patches, security updates, and version upgrades with minimal business disruption.

Performance Optimization & Governance

  • Tune VizQL, Backgrounder, Data Engine, Gateway, and Repository services to ensure optimal performance.
  • Define and enforce governance for users, groups, content, and permissions in line with enterprise policies.
  • Conduct regular audits and generate reports on usage, performance, extracts, and workbooks.

Automation & DevOps

  • Build automation scripts and DevOps pipelines using Tableau REST API, Tabcmd, Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
  • Automate inventory management, usage tracking, and administrative tasks to improve efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with infrastructure, database, network, and security teams to resolve complex issues and enhance platform performance.
  • Manage and troubleshoot integrations with multi-source cloud platforms like AWS Redshift and Databricks.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead capacity planning, platform scaling, and resource optimization initiatives.
  • Mentor junior Tableau administrators and establish best practices, SOPs, and governance standards.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Tableau platform decisions, upgrades, and governance.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide guidance, risk assessments, and progress updates.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Graduation with 3-10 years of working experience on Tableau platform administration
  • Strong experience with Tableau Server Administration, including upgrades, configuration, monitoring, and deployment
  • Proficiency in managing users, permissions, and content in enterprise Tableau environments
  • Expertise in Tableau architecture, including clustering, high-availability, and disaster recovery setups
  • Proven ability to tune server performance and optimize job scheduling
  • Hands-on experience with automation and scripting using REST API, Tabcmd, Python, Shell, or PowerShell
  • Advanced SQL skills for data validation, performance tuning, and issue resolution
  • Familiarity with cloud integrations and hybrid deployments (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Redshift)
  • Expertise in version upgrades, migrations, and DR planning
  • Strong knowledge of security models and SSO integration (AD, LDAP)
  • Tickets handling with Service Now or any other ticketing tools.
  • Expertise in Documentations for maintaining Security/CSQA standards.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Handle business requirements and queries.
  • Scripting experience for automation tasks (e.g., data extraction, cleanup, monitoring)
  • Familiarity with Git for version control (clone, commit, push)
  • Basic knowledge of system administration and networking
  • Strong soft skills: teamwork, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Tableau Server Certified Professional
    • AWS / Azure Cloud Certifications
  • Other BI Tools (Optional): Exposure to or hands-on with Power BI, SAP BO for multi-platform administration

Additional Details:

  • Availability to work flexible work hours is/may be required. This team will support continuous operations across two shifts and therefore, this role will require non-standard work hours, and some work on weekends and holidays.  Appropriate adjustments in benefits will be provided for employees working non-standard hours where applicable.
