Medical Evidence Practice team (MEP)

Position Purpose
As the EMEA external comparator offering lead (Principal), you will be responsible for organising our regional efforts to capture revenue and margin growth opportunity via (1) driving coordination of sales process, (2) influence streamlining the delivery of external comparator studies, and (3) looking for opportunities to improve and upscale our offering by optimising existing processes, adding new features and driving expansion of our internal and external capabilities.

Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management and Business Development

  • Primary owner of strategic client engagements focused on design and implementation of external comparator studies

  • Seeks out and identifies new revenue opportunities at existing and potential clients:

    • Create annual strategic offering plan including both offering development and focused GTM plan and forecast

    • ensures a continuous flow of business from client engagements working closely with sales and account management across RDS and RWS

    • Internal reporting on sales for European external comparators, in close collaboration with the Global Medical Affairs Product Strategy Lead for ECs who maintains the Global sales pipeline tracker

Expertise and Thought Leadership

  • Serves as external comparator expert, internally and externally, e.g. through client meetings, speaking engagements, training development, representing and/or leading external collaborations on behalf of IQVIA (e.g. GetReal Institute EC framework development), thought leadership and publications etc. 

  • Contributes to the enhanced awareness of IQVIA External Comparator capabilities in the marketplace through

    • Maintenance of EMEA-specific compelling offering descriptions

    • Active monitoring of the external comparator landscape, including regulatory and HTA decisions made based on external comparator data, publications, and white papers, in close collaboration with the Global Product Strategy Lead for ECs and Global Regulatory

  • Leads cross organization effort to identify opportunities to expand IQVIA external comparator focused capabilities

    • Lead the External Comparator Center of Excellence in collaboration with MEG and Product Strategy lead

    • Work closely with various European data network teams (OEN, RWN&P) to understand investment needed to make them more efficient at delivering external comparators; help build out business cases for any investment needed

    • Lead or contribute to internal process development initiatives (e.g. SOP development etc)

  • Proactively continues to strengthen subject matter expertise through on the job experience, participation in conferences and symposiums and other forums for professional knowledge sharing

Project Leadership

  • Lead or oversight cross functional IQVIA teams in the design, development and delivery of complex external comparator projects

  • (May) act as principal-in-charge on External Comparator client engagements

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with expertise in real-world evidence in pre- and peri-approval settings (regulatory and HTA), medical affairs, HEOR or market access

  • Strong interest in developing and delivering innovative solutions across the evidence lifecycle (strategy – execution – dissemination)

  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills. Values people’s opinions and encourages knowledge sharing.

  • Works willingly and effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals.

  • Offerings’ development experience – familiarity with accepted innovations models e.g., open innovation, ideation, product platforming, immersion or similar would be beneficial

  • Leadership experience in complex organizations with demonstrated results in aligning people without formal reporting relationships

  • Proven ability to advance ambiguous or conceptual ideas to decision points, while engaging multiple stakeholders, internal and clients

  • Familiar with key epidemiological and analytical concepts

  • Proven success in selling complex studies and/or strategic engagements to HQ / Global level

  • Significant part of previous experience gained in consulting / professional services

  • A track record in building client relationships, ideally including experience of account strategy

  • Commercial awareness, including experience in balancing scope management and client relationship to ensure commercial objectives are met

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and a solution-orientated mindset
