Job Description:

Work with Operations, Engineering, IS, and contractors to understand the operations plant floor systems including SCADA/Controls/MES/Operations Reporting needs of the users, and implement program changes to meet those needs. This position will be responsible to provide support for several Schreiber plant locations and leading cross functional teams on corporate and plant initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • Collect and prioritize the requests for new functionality, features, etc. from the various plants
  • Communicate the vision of the operations plant floor systems including SCADA/Controls/MES/Operations Reporting value and direction for the Company to programmers and partners in the plant locations.
  • Ensure support, to include troubleshooting, is provided for all plant floor systems, which requires 24/7 call availability.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance to technical guidelines and standards on all projects and work (MOC)
  • Drive and support various projects with automation design. Controls development, MES, Operations Reports, SCADA development and implementation.
  • Lead a team of Operations Systems/Controls Programmers supporting several plant locations
  • Together with the leadership team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements. Interprets and communicates customer requirements to plant production and/or support groups. Establishes and Audits PCPs, CCPs and Standard Operating Procedures to define and monitor processes, to ensure customer requirements are met. Reviews incidents during which the procedures are not met, and determines appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 5 years of experience in SCADA, MES, Operations Reporting, Controls automation and programming, project management experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired
  • Controller programming, hardware configuration & software conceptual design
  • SCADA programming, hardware configuration & software conceptual design.
  • Other computer skills that include: Microsoft Office, SQL servers, SSRS, iFix, Factory Link, RSView, Rockwell Automation software, GE's Proficy Suite.
  • Effective communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to quickly pick up and learn new technologies.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and lead individual and team projects, as well as those that involve cross functional teams
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (within and outside of the US)
