What is a Business Analyst - Capital Management?

The Business Analyst role will support the strategic initiative to improve capital project estimating and cost management providing governance to the budget and project submittal processes ensuring that adequate documentation is provided to meet both internal and regulatory requirements.

What does a Business Analyst – Capital Management do?

  • Reviews and processes project submissions, changes in authorization levels, and assists with project change requests

  • Provides governance to the budget and project submittal processes ensuring that adequate documentation is provided to meet both internal and regulatory requirements

  • Ensures that PowerPlan remains the single source of the truth by keeping forecasted capital project costs and schedules updated and processing work order revisions periodically as required to reflect changes in a project’s lifecycle, scope, and/ or prioritization

  • Assists with the Companywide rollout of PPM360 and ensures that the data flowing between PowerPlan and PPM360 is aligned and appropriate

  • Perform data analysis to identify opportunities for productivity and/or efficiency improvements and works with the Manager and/or Directors to implement changes to current processes

  • Supports the strategic initiative to improve capital project estimating and cost management

  • Assists in the development of the 5 Year Forecast as well as the Yearly Business Plans

  • Assists in the planning and scheduling of Capital Management programs and initiatives

  • Serves as the Divisional Investment Group Coordinator

What does it take to be a Business Analyst - Capital Management?

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Accounting or a related field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate degree in the aforementioned fields and 3 years of practical experience in business analysis, project management, accounting or related field. In lieu of an associate degree, a High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of practical experience business analysis, management or accounting

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and detail oriented with the ability to learn new computer software programs quickly

  • Ability to multitask and operate under pressure in a fast-paced work environment, proactive and flexible in handling multiple assignments and meeting deadlines

  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills to ensure that necessary documents are accurately created, updated, and maintained  

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and communicates in a clear and concise manner

  • Ability to complete assigned reports, goals, objectives, required Company and OSHA training, and special assignments on schedule and with appropriate documentation

  • Must have a safety-first mindset

  • Must be a self-motivated team player

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

  • 5 years of work experience in the Utility industry

Pay Range: $52,900-$128,400
