Hi, I’m Euphonia, Ashby’s Director of Demand Generation. I joined Ashby in January 2024 to lead the Demand Gen function, drawn by the sophisticated product and enthusiastic customer base. Since joining, both have proven to be true, and what truly stands out is working with some of the most talented and kind teammates while having a huge opportunity to build the Demand Gen machine. Before Ashby, I spent 4.5 years at Brex as the first paid marketing hire, building and scaling growth channels from scratch, honing my skills across demand gen and brand marketing as the company grew from fewer than 100 employees to over 1,300.

For this role, we’re looking for an ambitious demand generation manager who wants to build and scale Ashby’s marketing outbound engine directly tied to revenue. You will start with email marketing and expand into a variety of channels as you grow into owning more outbound efforts.

There are three key areas we’re hiring for in particular:

  1. Excellent in writing: Craft compelling and engaging email copy that resonates with our audience.

  2. Commercially savvy: Deeply understand our product, our audience, and our sales process.

  3. Data confident: Able to work with raw data, analyze and make recommendations.

At Ashby, we are fortunate to have achieved incredible product-market fit with a customer referral flywheel in motion. With our recent Series C raise, we’re at an exciting point in time where Demand Gen can make an outsized impact on the company’s trajectory. Come join us! More on how we work here and why our investors are excited about us here.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role

  1. Fully own marketing email outbound strategy and execution: Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive marketing email outbound strategy that drives qualified pipeline. This includes identifying areas of opportunity, writing email copy, implementing campaigns, iterating and optimizing the campaigns on an ongoing basis.

  2. Report, analyze, test, and iterate: Regularly measure and analyze campaign performance, generate insights, and make informed decisions to improve the outbound strategy. Conduct A/B tests to optimize messaging and tactics.

  3. Develop and implement outbound marketing campaigns based on business needs, this could include Account-based Marketing (ABM) campaigns to engage and convert target accounts, field/events marketing enablement, regional campaigns, etc.

  4. Leverage tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, including automation and personalization tools like Clay, getcargo.io, Hubspot, Instantly, and Apollo, intent tools such as 6sense and G2, and reporting tools such as Looker.

  5. Translate learnings into actions:  Constantly gather learnings from our sales process and apply them to campaign strategy and execution.

  6. Work closely with Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Sales: Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment on goals, metrics, campaign approaches, and processes.

You will probably love this role if:

  • You are analytical, solution-oriented, and great at leveraging research and tools for your work. You enjoy digging into both qualitative and quantitative data to uncover insights and are skilled at developing solutions to complex challenges.

  • You excel at writing email copy that resonates with the audience, driving engagement and conversions.

  • You are excited about exploring and scaling additional marketing channels as needed. Potential channels include Meta, YouTube, Google, X, and more.

  • You excel at building trust with cross-functional teams: As a B2B SaaS company, our sales process involves tight collaboration across all teams. You have strong interpersonal skills and can build and maintain collaborative relationships across different departments.

This role is not for you if:

  • You aren’t able to operate with autonomy and execute channel strategies from end to end: as one of our company's core operating principles, we prioritize ownership. We will provide clear ownership over a specific scope of work and trust you to own your work. You should be proactive and resourceful.

  • You aren’t comfortable working with lots of numbers: You will need to own your numbers and report on them weekly with reliable data. While we have data resources to help get the numbers you need, it’s crucial that you design the best way to leverage data analysis for your decision-making.

  • You don’t already have a great mental model for how to run successful email outbound: Prior experience and a deep understanding of email outbound are essential for this role.

  • You are a grow-at-all-cost marketer. Although we’re all for getting creative with testing and tooling, helping customers should be at the heart of everything we do. We don’t have room for tactics that erode brand trust or damage the relationship with our potential customers, even when these tactics can boost numbers temporarily.

Interview Plan

At Ashby, our team and interview process want to help you show your best self. We’ll dive into past projects and simulate working together via project working sessions. Our interview process is four rounds:

  1. 30-minute intro call.

  2. 45-minute interview with Euphonia Xu (Hiring Manager).

  3. A take home assignment which you’ll have 1 hour to present to the hiring team.

  4. A virtual on-site of 2 hours with a panel of interviewers – this will be with Benjamin, Co-founder & CEO, Antonio, Sr. Demand Gen Manager, Brooke, Revenue Operations, and Harriet, VP Marketing. We will likely have at least one of these sessions prior to the assignment, so you have more of a chance to get to know the business and team.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity.

  • Opportunity to work with a talented and passionate team.

  • 10-year exercise window for stock options. You shouldn’t feel pressure to purchase stock options if you leave Ashby —do it when you feel financially comfortable.

  • Unlimited PTO with four weeks recommended per year. Expect “Vacation?” in our one-on-one agenda until you start taking it!

  • Twelve weeks of fully paid family leave in the US. We plan to expand this to employees in other countries as situations arise.

  • Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget. Get what you need to be happy and productive!

  • $100/month education budget with more expensive items (like conferences) covered with manager approval.

  • If you’re in the US, top-notch health insurance for you and your dependents with all premiums covered by us.

Ashby’s success hinges on hiring great people and creating an environment where we can be happy, feel challenged, and do our best work. We’re being deliberate about building that environment from the ground up. I hope that excites you enough to apply.
