WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for Leads to join our newly formed Vendor Strategy & Business Management organization in Global Technology who will be part of a team of dynamic, high performing professionals supporting Nike’s strategic technology initiatives. They’ll be a trusted member of a team responsible for building trusting and meaningful relationships with our technology executives across multiple technology functions. They must be able to drive partner alignment across Nike functions and geographies. It is important they understand Nike’s business needs and leverage data and market research to determine and enable strategic objectives. Candidate must have a deep understanding of foundational technology vendors and framework, perform and understand deep market analytics, and be able to research and develop expertise across technology categories while leading an agile team focused on enhance value for NIKE through our engagements with external partners.

This role will serve as a member of one of our Vendor Strategy and Business Management teams driving Vendor Strategy or Vendor Performance reporting into the Director of their respective team function. As an individual contributor, you will be part of supporting the strategies for our critical vendors and objectives while ensuring we monitor, manage, and achieve expected service levels and return on investments, contract negotiations with our most strategic suppliers, and building meaningful relationships across the NIKE matrix.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

NIKE Leads will be part of of the vendor lifecycle ensuring proper execution of activites are to the highest standard including vendor strategies, spend analysis, ability to run quarterly business reviews, contract management, risk management, competive events and delivery with Procurement, contracting with Legal, performance reporting, and partner engagement.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will report directly to the Director of the Vendor Strategy or Vendor Performance team under the leader of Vendor Strategy & Business Management for Global Technology. You will work closely with peers across the team, functions such as Procurement and Legal, partners in Global Technology, and leaders across multiple business lines in support of managing our 3rd party requirements in technology. This role provides the opportunity to interact, present, and influence key initiatives and strategies.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, pre-law or related field with 7+ years relevant work experience in Vendor Strategy, Vendor Management, Technology Procurement, or Technology Business Operations Management.

  • MBA, or graduate degree preferred

  • Work experience directly with Hardware, Software, Cloud/IaaS, and Security (HW and SW) vendors including experience negotiating strategic multi-year contracts with Tier 1 Technology suppliers (examples include Microsoft, Salesforce, Adobe, Amazon, and others).

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills

  • Actively researches market trends and applies best practices to support activities

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to drive insights from unstructured data

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret spend and cost data

  • Understanding of Total Cost of Ownership

  • Experience and understanding of various negotiation tactics

  • Knowledge of standard contract structures and key terms

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including advanced level PowerPoint and Excel

  • An ability to think Globally and work with an international culturally-diverse team

  • Proven history of strategic thinking and influencing decisions
