The Diversity Pipeline Program was created by Major League Baseball Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr. in January 2016. The goal of the program is to identify and develop a broad spectrum of well qualified candidates in Baseball Operations departments at all 30 Clubs and the MLB Office of the Commissioner. Applicants will be referred for interview considerations for opportunities within Player Development (including athletic training and strength and conditioning), Player Evaluation/Scouting, Managing & Coaching, Baseball Analytics, Research & Development, Baseball Front Office roles, and Umpiring. 

In addition to interview opportunities, the Diversity Pipeline Program seeks to create experiential learning for applicants through various initiatives throughout the year including:

  • SABR Analytics Conference
  • Diversity Pipeline Scout and Coaching Development Program
  • Take the Field
  • MLB Partner League (ex. Appalachian & Draft League) throughout each summer

Preferred Background/Experience:

  1. Desire and willingness to work in professional baseball
  2. Baseball and softball experience at MLB, MiLB, or college level.
  3. Strong working knowledge of the game of baseball.
  4. Experience working in Baseball Operations function at MLB, MiLB, or college level.
  5. Experience with baseball analytics/coding platforms, specifically SQL, R, or Python. :
