Job Summary

Synechron is looking for a highly skilled Network Security Technology Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise network security solutions. This role is vital in protecting organizational assets against evolving external threats by overseeing security architecture, ensuring platform stability, and guiding the lifecycle of security products. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset to support the organization’s security posture and enable agile project delivery.


Software Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Extensive experience with network security products such as NGFWs (Palo Alto, Checkpoint), IDS/IPS, Web Proxies, Load Balancers (F5 GTM, LTM, ASM), RAS, DNS, and Certificates

  • Strong knowledge of security standards, controls, and best practices

  • Experience with automation tools and scripting: Ansible, Python, Chef

  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies: Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, VMWare ESXi, KVM, OpenStack

  • Familiarity with cloud security solutions (Azure, AWS, GCP)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with open-source security solutions like HAProxy, PFSense, Service Mesh

  • Understanding of licensing models for security products

Overall Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support secure network architectures and products aligned with organizational standards and workload requirements

  • Lead platform lifecycle management including patching, upgrades, and automation to optimize cost and efficiency

  • Ensure operational stability and security of network devices and solutions, reducing incidents and improving resilience

  • Drive the development and adherence to security standards, controls, and best practices across all solutions

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, architecture, security, and operations teams to create scalable and resilient security solutions, including cloud enablement

  • Conduct research, evaluate new product releases, and incorporate features into product backlogs for continuous improvement

  • Oversee lifecycle management and total cost of ownership for security devices and solutions

  • Support escalation procedures and Level 3 support activities as needed

  • Mentor junior team members and influence platform and standards development

Network Security & Infrastructure:

  • Essential: Firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint), Load Balancers (F5), IDS/IPS, Web Proxy solutions, Certificates, RAS, DNS

  • Preferred: Cloud security solutions, Next-Generation Firewall features, Web Application Firewalls (WAFs)

Automation & Scripting:

  • Essential: Ansible, Python, Chef for automation and configuration management

Virtualization & Cloud:

  • Essential: VMware, Docker, OpenShift, KVM, OpenStack

  • Preferred: Cloud-native security tools and services (Azure Security, AWS WAF, etc.)

Monitoring & Lifecycle Management:

  • Knowledge of OEM, third-party monitoring tools, and automation for deployment and maintenance

Protocols & Standards:

  • Knowledge of licensing, security controls, network segmentation, VPNs, encryption, and compliance standards

Experience Requirements

  • 7-12 years of experience in enterprise network security, including designing and supporting large-scale security solutions in financial or large corporate environments

  • Proven expertise in deploying and managing NGFWs, load balancers, IDS/IPS, proxies, and associated solutions

  • Experience in automation, scripting, and cloud security integrations

  • Strong background in platform lifecycle management, cost optimization, and security architecture design

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Design, deploy, and support enterprise security solutions tailored for scalable and resilient network architecture

  • Conduct regular review, patching, and automation updates to ensure platform stability and security

  • Troubleshoot and resolve security incidents, performance issues, and outages efficiently

  • Collaborate with architecture and security teams on design reviews, standards enforcement, and project planning

  • Evaluate new product features, research emerging security threats, and update security controls accordingly

  • Mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to best practices and security standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, or related field

  • Certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, Palo Alto Networks certifications, Checkpoint certifications, or equivalent are highly desirable

  • Continuous learning in security technologies, cloud security, and network architecture
