Summary:  The Kirkhof College of Nursing at Grand Valley State University invites applications for an affiliate faculty position. Applicants must have a Master’s degree (or higher) in Nursing and an unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan (or be eligible for licensure in Michigan as a Registered Nurse).  The start date for this position is no later than Spring/Summer Semester 2025.

Required Qualifications and Education:

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan (or be eligible for licensure in Michigan as a Registered Nurse), and have a Master's degree (or higher) in Nursing. If MSN earned through a second degree to MSN degree program, BSN requirement is waived.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Commitment to working with diverse student and community populations.
  • Applicants must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
     

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Experience working in an academic setting as a member of a team and with a diverse population
  • Previous teaching and/or preceptor experience

Responsibilities- Essential Functions:

  • Affiliate positions involve oversight of clinical experiences within one's specialty, and/or selected classroom teaching under the direction of Senior Faculty. This is a 12-month appointment at 0.75 FTE.
     

Responsibilities- Non-essential Functions:

  • Other responsibilities include membership on KCON shared governance committee(s) as well as other forms of community service.
