The main function the Sr Associate Engineer is to work on electrical schematic , Panel Layout , Controls HW design etc to the package Engineering teams in the design of electrical integration and assist in the implementation of turbomachinery projects. The Engineer will also work on design of turbine and driven equipment control systems and upgrades to existing fielded equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead/Support NPD , Cost Reduction , Sustaining Engineering projects for Gas Turbine.
- Understanding assembly and field issues and able to do investigations based on performing root cause analysis, defining corrective actions, and providing containment for diversified products and custom features.
- Investigated Change requests should be implemented using Promise-e CONNECT & Windchill Configurable products.
- This position includes electrical schematics design and electrical Panel layout for gas turbine engine and driven system packages in Bentley's Promis-e CONNECT design software to meet ANSI/IEC/CEC/NEMA/ISA standards.
- Responsible for the design & maintenance of electrical standard composite for new production sales order projects, aftermarket, new product development, retrofits, refurbishments, and upgrades to support varying configurations sold to the customer.
- To work on control systems for gas turbine packages as part of electrical integration team. Applications include electrical generator and gas compressor systems.
- To be part of Built In Quality gate process to reduce EDC (Engineering Design check) error counts.
- Implementing enhancements, system drawing corrections, and process corrections.
- Provide overall project level leadership to various Electrical projects.
- Additionally, the candidate will support Project Management to develop and define custom requirements, as well as supporting the manufacturing and test organizations through successful completion of the project, maintaining a close liaison with Standards Engineering to ensure that design improvements are incorporated into the relevant standard database(s) and will participate in HAZOPS, customer design reviews, technical task risk assessments, Factory Pre-Commissioning (FPC), acceptance tests and support field personnel through equipment commissioning.
Skills:
- Strong experience in Electrical Schematics and panel layout design is a must.
- Strong experience in Oil & Gas Industry, Electric Power Generation, Distribution or Gas Turbine domain will be added advantage.
- Strong Product knowledge and machine controls and subsystems (Fuel, Lubrication, Fire and Gas, Vibration, Auxiliary Systems Control, Balance of Plant (BOP) Systems) will be added advantage.
- Strong Experience in Collaborating with Various Cross functional teams on understanding requirements to develop and implement new/improve processes.
- Experience using AutoCAD, E-PLAN or similar SW is essential.
- Experience in Installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of Gas turbines or power generation package will be added advantage.
- Experience in Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) using Windchill or Similar environment will be added advantage .
- Experienced in all project phases using Agile Methodologies (Scrum/Sprint/Azure DevOps). Experience in handling NPD, Cost reduction, Sustaining Engineering projects.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics or Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years’ or PG or Masters or equivalent with 3-7 experience required.
