The Global Contract Remediation Lawyer will be responsible for supporting the Technology, Operations, & Privacy Legal team in advising the bank on legal and regulatory matters related to technology, including operational resilience, fintech, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies which require changes to contractual requirements and in some cases requires working with vendors to amend contracts on a global basis. This role will require staying abreast of regulatory changes, conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing contracts, collaborating with various business units to ensure compliance, especially the rest of the Technology, Operations, & Privacy Legal teams, RRO Legal, and coordinating remediation / implementation projects with Sourcing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and act as SME on a range of technology-related emerging regulatory matters.
  • Monitor and analyze emerging trends in technology regulations and advise the bank on necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
  • Conduct legal research, interpret regulations, and prepare legal opinions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and develop playbooks related to technology services and partnerships alongside the TOP Legal teams.
  • Collaborate with business units, including risk, other Legal teams and Sourcing, to develop and implement compliance programs.
  • Coordinate with Sourcing on remediation projects to address regulatory findings and ensure compliance.
  • Represent the bank in interactions with industry bodies and external counsel and provide advice on interactions with regulatory bodies in collaboration with Government Affairs.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and contribute to the development of internal policies and training materials.
  • Create and conduct trainings for other sourcing and other commercial groups at Citi on key legal topics and Citi policies, especially as revised to reflect changes in law.
