Programming & Streaming Communications Intern: LA - Spring 2025

Your New Role 

This internship will be located in the LA area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule.  The Programming & Streaming Communications team manages corporate publicity on behalf of HBO, Max Originals, Magnolia Network, and discovery+. The team is responsible for public relations and executive thought-leadership efforts focused on programming strategy, content, marketing, product and tech initiatives, and executive leadership, with responsibilities that range across strategic corporate messaging, crisis management, brand communications and digital PR. The team also manages PR social profiles on Instagram and Twitter geared towards press.

 
Your Role Accountabilities 

  • Conduct research to support PR planning

  • Help curate press lists

  • Draft and copy edit press releases and pitches for department initiatives

  • Upload show publicity photos to press site

  • Source photos for press releases and pitches from the Digital Library

 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • General understanding of PR concepts, practices, and tools

  • Detail oriented, self-starter, hard worker and the ability to work independently

  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required) 

  • Must be a rising Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older) 

  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above cumulative GPA) 

  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

What to know before applying: 

  • The duration of the program is 12-weeks  

Program dates: 

Start Date: January 27th 

End Date: April 18th 

  • Interns will be expected to work 16-24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity. 

  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.   

  • Interviewing will take place from October through early December. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for roles in locations where legally required. Pay Rate: $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
