Job Title: - Senior Product Owner – API Security

Location: - Bangalore

Business & Team: -

We are seeking a Senior Product Owner to lead the continued evolution of our API Security capabilities within Group Security. This role will be based in CBA India, reflecting the growing maturity of our API Security squad in the region and aligning with our broader organisational direction to strengthen Group Security capabilities locally.

Impact & contribution: -

As Senior Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining and driving the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for API Security. You will work closely with engineering squads, platform teams, and stakeholders across the business to deliver secure, scalable, and high-impact solutions that protect our digital assets and customer data.

Roles & Responsibilities: -

• Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap for API Security, aligned with crew objectives and business outcomes.
• Champion a shift-left approach to API security, embedding controls early in the development lifecycle.
• Drive product discovery and innovation using design thinking, data insights, and hypothesis-driven development.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Group Security, API Platform, ServiceNow, and application teams to understand needs and translate them into actionable priorities.
• Represent the voice of the customer and business in all product decisions.
• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from backlog management to release planning and operationalisation.
• Maintain a prioritised backlog focused on delivering measurable security and business outcomes.
• Coordinate delivery across squads and domains, managing dependencies and change effectively.
• Ensure API Security solutions meet internal policy, regulatory, and customer requirements.
• Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and compliance obligations across product workstreams.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to squad members, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Partner with Agile Coaches and Performance Leads to drive agile maturity and squad effectiveness.
• Contribute to the broader product owner community through knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Track and report on product performance against defined OKRs and KPIs.
• Resolve delivery impediments and escalate issues as needed to maintain momentum.

Key Skills & Experience

• Candidates need to have 15 + years of IT experience
• Proven experience as a Product Owner or Senior Product Owner in a complex, agile environment.
• Strong understanding of API technologies, security principles, and platform integration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and influence outcomes.
• Experience in risk and compliance management within a product context.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
• Experience working with distributed teams and global delivery models is highly desirable.

Education Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
