Chemours is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team! This position will report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager at our Belle, WV location.

The Reliability Engineer provides equipment technical expertise to support site manufacturing operations and ensures safety, reliability, capability, and productivity of the facilities.

  

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Provide mechanical engineering support to the utilities area for troubleshooting, improving equipment and facilities, and PSM (Process Safety Management) related activities

  • Provide engineering expertise for project design work to ensure its compliance with specifications, engineering standards, and quality assurance

  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for equipment failures

  • Collaborate with MIQA (mechanical integrity and quality assurance) lead on the implementation of best practices

  • Develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans to include equipment checks and predictive preventative maintenance (PPM) performed by operations and mechanics for non-capital changes

  • Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) criticality assessment process to ensure adequate rationale is provided to develop and manage MIQA effort, including critical spare parts identification and maintenance procedures

  • Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and uptime data to recommend and justify improvements to obtain lowest life cycle cost on different classes of equipment

  • Participate in maintenance and reliability networks and share best practices, successes, and learnings

The following is required for this role: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an ABET accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or related fields

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing role (could include internship or co-op)

  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems

  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects

  • Ability to work in a team environment with high degree of initiative and self-motivation and flexibility to monitor and move projects forward quickly and safely

The following is preferred for this role: 

  • Experience working in the chemicals industry

  • Familiarity with advanced maintenance and reliability methodologies and measures such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Total Equipment Effectiveness (Uptime), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and Equipment Life Cycle Cost Analysis – Total Cost of Ownership.

  • Good understanding of Condition-based maintenance technologies including Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Infrared thermography, Ultrasonics, and performance testing

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment repair techniques both fixed and rotating.

  • Familiarity with SAP

$73,947.00 - $115,542.00

Annual Bonus Target:

6%
