POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ski + Ride Support Staff Supervisor will follow all Winter Park policies and procedures, all applicable laws (federal, state, and local), and all health and sanitation codes. Within the Ski + Ride School, this individual will create a safe, pleasant, and attentive environment for guests of all ages and for employees at all times. The Support Staff Supervisor delegates and oversees a wide variety of indoor and outdoor functions which are integral to the success of the Ski + Ride School.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the successful operation of the Support Staff within the Ski + Ride School in concert with the Children’s Program Manager. This includes designing and implementing protocol and procedure, training, scheduling staff according to business needs, and providing an encouraging and engaging employee atmosphere.

  • Delegate all daily operational tasks and responsibilities to ensure smooth and successful operation of the Ski + Ride School.

  • Oversee the inventory, use, and maintenance of SRS vehicles, snowmobiles, and equipment.

  • Provide safe, pleasant, and attentive environment for the children of the Ski + Ride School. Ensure the emotional, physical, and social needs of children aged 3-14 are consistently met. Support Staff are responsible for children at a variety of touchpoints including arrival, check-in and -out, bathroom and lunch breaks, indoor care, and others.

  • Responsible for ensuring staff have tools to manage behavioral issues should they arise.

  • Interact with guests throughout the day. Perform guest recovery if necessary.

  • Manage the maintenance, transportation, and inventory of flaik equipment throughout the day.

  • Provide training and support on the flaik program to ensure regular class monitoring and incident resolution can occur in a timely manner.

  • Keep detailed logs and records of all incidents. Report any unsafe conditions and correct if possible. Work closely with the SRS supervisors and Admin teams, Patrol and Risk and Safety to ensure all entries are complete and accurate.

  • Perform training, recognition coaching, or disciplinary action as necessary. Record observations of all SRS staff and encourage open and timely two-way feedback. Responsible for seasonal evaluations of the Support Staff.

  • Follow all procedures and policies for public health and the safety of children and employees including, but not limited to, proper hand washing techniques, dishwashing, sanitization of toys and equipment, sanitation of eating areas.

  • Use radios and phones constantly to communicate with staff and guests around the Resort.

  • Regularly work with staff of all departments of the Resort.

  • Set a positive example for other Resort employees and guests. Be knowledgeable about the Ski + Ride School and base area. Be aware of area cleanliness and pick up trash.

  • Understand and adhere to all Resort policies and procedures including but not limited to Personal Identifying Information policies, health and sanitary codes for childcare and food preparation, covid-19 safety protocols, on-mountain operational procedures, and others.

  • Cross train and be prepared to assist various departments within the Ski + Ride School and the Resort. This may include assisting lift operations, guest services, instructor staff, or others.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role required.

  • Exemplary customer service and public relation skills are required.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Resort operation required; Ski + Ride School operations preferred.

  • Enjoys working with guests of all ages from 2 years to adults.

  • Thrives in a team environment.

  • Microsoft Office Suite experience is required including Excel, Word, Outlook, and others.

  • Experience with flaik and/or RTP are preferred; ability to learn is required.

  • Experience operating a snowmobile, ATV or other motorized OHV is required.

  • 1-2 years experience working with children is required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED (high school equivalency) is required. Applicants currently enrolled in High School may apply.

WAGE:

The base hourly pay/salary range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resort’s hourly pay/salary range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resort’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Salary/hourly pay range: $25.00/hour

  • Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate. Exposure to hazardous materials is atypical in this position.
