As a Telecommunications Specialist II, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining an extensive and sophisticated telecommunications network. As always, safety is the highest priority!

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Supports daily operational control, data telecommunications and LAN/WAN system with technical services
  • Installs, troubleshoots, tests and maintains all telecom/network equipment and on-site DC power systems including batteries (12V, 24V, 48V), rectifiers, generators, fuse panels, solar panels and grounding
  • Coordinates with SCADA, Gas Control, Network Services, local operations and other company partners
  • Collaborates with Telecommunications Engineers/Specialists to assure the reliable operations of the Company's Telecommunications assets
  • Applies specialized knowledge to complete major projects and/or work assignments
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED, technical/trade school certification or military electronics training and minimum two (2) years of experience in telecommunications, operations or maintenance
  • Preferred: Associate's or two-year technical school degree in electronics or military electronics training and valid FCC license, telecommunications certificate or license

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Thrives in a team environment and can build partnerships with others

Physical and Environment Work Requirements:

Must be willing to:

  • Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
  • Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
  • Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
  • Use hand tools

Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

  • Must be available for 24-hour call-out and to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises
