ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provides excellent customer service by answering library user questions in person and on the phone, reserving study rooms for law students and faculty, and locating physical and electronic resources for checkout or in-library use.
· Maintains and cares for library spaces and resources by completing hourly counts, reshelving and shifting books, checking printer supplies, reading the shelves, updating legal texts, and cleaning the library.
· Performs the general duties listed above with the goal of maintaining a clean and clutter-free environment conducive to study.
· Completes special projects assigned by the Access Services Coordinator/Supervisor or Associate Librarian for Public Services.
· Keeps a vigilant posture while staffing the Library Service Desk to identify patrons who may need assistance and/or those who may be exhibiting behavior that is problematic to others.
· Demonstrates the ability to work in and with diverse populations, supporting an inclusive environment in accordance with Liberty University School of Law’s Non-Discrimination Policy.
· Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
· Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.
· Complies with Liberty University School of Law’s business casual dress code.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
· At least one semester of college education is required.
· Grade point average of 3.0 or above is preferred.
· Federal Work Study status is preferred.
· Previous customer service experience is preferred.
· Some knowledge of the Library of Congress classification and call number system is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment where the essential functions of this position are typically performed is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lit and the noise level is moderate.
Work Hours
Candidates must have safe transportation available to commute to and from work. Candidates are expected to work 38 hours a week.
