Our challenge

We are seeking is seeking a Production Support Analyst to support critical data and analytics platforms used across front-office, risk, and reporting functions. This role sits at the intersection of data operations, platform stability, and business enablement, requiring strong technical troubleshooting skills alongside the ability to partner closely with business and technology stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience supporting ETL pipelines, cloud-based data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake), and containerized microservices, with a strong sense of ownership in a high- availability production environment.

Additional Information* 

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.  In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $90k – CAD $100k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

Production & Platform Support

  • Provide L2/L3 production support for data platforms and ETL pipelines supporting Capital Markets applications.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to batch jobs, data loads, and real-time processes.
  • Perform log analysis and root-cause investigation across application, database, and container logs.
  • Support cross-platform environments, including Linux and Windows systems.

ETL & Data Operations

  • Support ETL operations using IBM DataStage, including job monitoring, reruns, and failure analysis.
  • Manage and monitor batch scheduling via Control-M, ensuring SLA adherence.
  • Troubleshoot data quality, performance, and data availability issues across pipelines.
  • Support cloud-native workflows, including basic understanding of DAGs and scheduling using Apache Airflow.

Cloud, Containers & Databases

  • Support Databricks environments from an operational and troubleshooting perspective.
  • Provide operational support for Snowflake, focusing on query performance, data availability,
  • and issue resolution.
  • Support containerized microservices using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Monitor and assist with database performance tuning, including SQL query optimization.

Reporting & Business Enablement.

  • Support Tableau dashboards (maintenance and end-user support; no development required).
  • Work closely with business users to understand issues, prioritize incidents, and provide timely
  • resolutions.
  • Translate technical issues into clear business impact assessments and updates. Operational Excellence.
  • Participate in incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-incident reviews.
  • Contribute to runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve monitoring, automation, and platform stability.

Requirements:

  • 5–7 years of experience in Production Support / Application Support / Data Operations roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • ETL tools, preferably IBM DataStage
  • SQL (writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing queries)
  • Databricks (operational support)
  • Linux OS (required) and Windows environments
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Batch scheduling tools such as Control-M
  • Experience supporting Snowflake from an operations/debugging perspective.
  • Familiarity with Apache Airflow and cloud-native job orchestration concepts.
  • Experience with log analysis, monitoring tools, and production troubleshooting.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of how data platforms support Capital Markets functions.
  • High degree of ownership, accountability, and critical thinking.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience supporting data platforms within Capital Markets or Investment Banking environments.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
  • Prior experience contributing to automation or reliability improvements in production environments.
