Job Description

The Software Engineer II is responsible for designing, building, and scaling secure and high-performing systems within the Messenger Technology domain across the AirAsia Next ecosystem. This role ensures that authentication, authorization, and user management services are robust, reliable, and deliver seamless, secure, and customer-centric digital experiences.

 

WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:

  • Design, build, and maintain secure authentication and user profile systems, including SSO and 2FA capabilities

  • Develop and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices to support identity and access management across platforms

  • Take ownership of user lifecycle management (registration, login, session management, account security)

  • Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and Security teams to deliver seamless and secure user experiences

  • Identify and implement improvements to system performance, scalability, and reliability

  • Lead and contribute to test automation efforts (unit, integration, and end-to-end) to improve product quality

  • Support and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and cloud infrastructure (GCP)

 

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 3–5 years of experience in software engineering, with strong backend or full-stack development exposure

  • Proficient in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience in modern frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js)

  • Solid experience in building and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices architectures

  • Hands-on experience with authentication systems (SSO, OAuth, 2FA) or user identity platforms

  • Familiar with cloud platforms (GCP preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker)

  • Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and performance optimization

  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and resolve complex technical issues

  • Effective communicator who can collaborate across cross-functional teams

  • Self-driven, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and improvement
