Role Summary
As Proposition & Insights Manager, you transform customer and market insights into scalable, high‑impact product and services offers across Europe. This newly created European role is a key growth opportunity, combining insight leadership with proposition development to strengthen Hiscox’s products, services and customer experience.

You lead European research and insight programmes, turning data into clear recommendations that shape proposition roadmaps, marketing priorities and commercial decisions. Working closely with European and London-based Group teams, you ensure that what we build and launch is rooted in a deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Proposition Design & Delivery

• Shape and lead the development of customer‑centric propositions, from early insight through concept, pilot and launch.
• Design differentiated value propositions and services that go beyond core insurance cover and enhance customer experience.
• Work in close partnership with Underwriting, Marketing, Sales, Direct, Tech & Change, Data and iHub teams to ensure propositions are desirable, feasible and scalable.

Insight‑Driven Strategy

• Own European qualitative and quantitative insight programmes, including surveys, trackers, NPS and Hiscox Group reports, ensuring strong alignment with Group standards and local market needs.
• Lead end‑to‑end research design across Europe, from business framing to insight synthesis.
• Convert complex customer, market and competitive data into actionable recommendations that directly inform propositions, marketing priorities and commercial focus.

European Collaboration & Influence

• Act as a strategic partner to European and local teams, embedding insight‑led thinking into decision‑making.
• Facilitate alignment across functions by clearly articulating customer needs, value drivers and trade‑offs.
• Contribute to a strong European “centre of excellence” mindset, balancing shared standards with local relevance.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• 2–3 years’ experience in insights (qualitative and quantitative research), product development or underwriting.
• Experience managing agencies or consultants and with benchmarking, NPS, campaign tests, and customer insights tools 
• Strong strategic and operational marketing mindset.
• Able to simplify complexity and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Curious, proactive and impact‑driven, with a strong European mindset.
• Fluent professional English.
