What can you expect in an "IT Support Specialist" role with TaskUs:
Think of yourself as an IT Asset Technician who manages IT assets throughout their lifecycle, handling tasks such as onboarding and offboarding machines, conducting repairs, replacing equipment, and deploying devices to new hires. This role focuses on efficient asset management, technical support, and compliance with organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all IT hardware assets using asset management tools, ensuring traceability by location, user assignment, and lifecycle status.
Coordinate with procurement teams to acquire IT assets as needed and ensure their timely deployment, tagging, and assignment in alignment with organizational requirements.
Oversee the complete lifecycle of IT assets—from acquisition and deployment to upgrades, decommissioning, and secure disposal—ensuring alignment with company policies and asset strategies.
Ensure all asset movements and records are in full compliance with internal policies and applicable government regulations.
Maintain proper documentation to support both internal and external audit processes.
Generate and provide inventory, lifecycle, and compliance reports upon request by management or relevant stakeholders, supporting visibility and informed decision-making.
Work collaboratively with vendors to manage asset procurement, monitor warranty statuses, and ensure adherence to service-level agreements and contract terms.
Implement secure handling procedures and protocols for IT assets, including data protection measures during transfers and disposal, to mitigate security and compliance risks.
Regularly analyze asset utilization data to identify cost-saving opportunities, reduce redundancy, extend hardware life, and inform procurement planning and budgeting.
Provide training and guidance to employees on proper use and care of IT assets, and coordinate with IT support teams to maintain asset performance standards.
Collaborate with departments such as Finance, HR, Procurement, and Compliance to ensure alignment of asset management practices across the organization and support related operational processes.
Required Qualifications:
At least 1 year proven experience in IT asset management, hardware repairs, and technical support.
Strong knowledge of operating systems, hardware components, and software applications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lift and transport IT equipment as needed and may require standing for extended periods during setup and installation.
Primarily office-based with occasional visits to other locations for hardware setup, repairs, or decommissioning.
Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Available to provide support during off-shift hours if needed.
Education / Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in ECE, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or any IT / Computer-related course
