Position Summary

The EHSS Intern will support the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) function in the execution of internal programs and initiatives that strengthen regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and safety culture across the site. Under the supervision of EHSS professionals, the intern will support field activities, inspections, risk and ergonomic assessments, training coordination, documentation control, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role will also support SAFE-T related engagement activities, observations, follow-up actions, training support, and documentation aligned with site EHSS priorities.

Key Responsibilities

1. EHSS Program and Risk Assessment Support

Assist in supporting EHSS programs, initiatives, and daily activities across the site.

Participate in workplace observations, basic risk assessments, and hazard identification activities under supervision.

Support efforts to identify unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors, and opportunities for improvement.

Help document findings and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

2. Ergonomics

Support ergonomic assessments for office, laboratory, warehouse, and manufacturing workstations.

Assist in collecting information related to posture, repetitive motion, force, lifting, and workstation design.

Help identify ergonomic improvement opportunities and support follow-up actions.

3. EHSS Inspections and Compliance Support

Participate in EHSS inspections, field observations, and general compliance activities across the site.

Support the identification of unsafe conditions, improvement opportunities, and follow-up actions.

Assist in preparing inspection reports, action trackers, and supporting documentation for internal reviews and audits.

4. Training, Communication, and Safety Culture

Support the preparation of EHSS communication materials, awareness campaigns, and training content.

Assist with EHSS orientations, inductions, and general awareness activities for employees, contractors, and visitors, as applicable.

Help coordinate training records, attendance, and training-related documentation.

Participate in initiatives that promote employee engagement, safety culture, and SAFE-T program participation across the site.

5. Incident Data, Metrics, and Continuous Improvement

Support data gathering and administrative follow-up related to incidents, near misses, first aid cases, observations, and other EHSS activities.

Assist in trend analysis using EHSS metrics and KPIs to identify recurring risks and improvement opportunities.

Help prepare charts, dashboards, reports, and presentations for EHSS reporting and management review.

6. Documentation and Administrative Support

Assist with maintaining EHSS procedures, forms, records, training logs, trackers, and departmental files.

Support document control and organization of evidence required for site, internal, and corporate reporting.

Help prepare presentations, spreadsheets, summaries, and other administrative materials for EHSS initiatives and projects.

7. Environmental, Security, and Emergency Preparedness Support

Assist with general EHSS activities related to environmental practices, emergency preparedness, and security support, as applicable to site needs.

Support inspections, awareness activities, drills, readiness efforts, and documentation related to these programs.

Help collect and organize records, metrics, and follow-up actions associated with environmental, security, and emergency response initiatives.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Available to work on-site during the internship period.

Strong interest in EHSS programs within a manufacturing environment.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including
