About the Job
The Red Hat UXD team is looking for a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer with experience in Edge Computing and/or hardware to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will focus on tackling complex problems and transforming them into seamless, user-centered experiences across our product portfolio, particularly in the realm of Edge applications, hardware, and enterprise solutions.
What You'll Do
We're looking for someone with strong problem-solving abilities who can turn intricate technology into simple, intuitive experiences for the humans who use it every day.
Design end-to-end user experiences, from discovery to onboarding to support
Collaborate with researchers, designers, developers, and product managers
Gather business requirements and present recommendations to stakeholders
Grasp and simplify complex processes in order to design a simplified user experience
Create journeys, mockups, wireframes, and other design assets
Build strong relationships with developers and product managers to ensure seamless collaboration
Identify and address usability issues with actionable improvements
Contribute to and engage with PatternFly, our design system
Offer feedback and mentorship to fellow designers
What You'll Bring
5+ years of experience with designing user experience for applications
Experience in designing for Edge Computing and/or embedded hardware systems
Understanding of Edge computing, including distributed computing and cloud integration
Ability to advocate for high-quality and simple user experiences throughout complex processes
Comfortable collaborating and explaining ideas across teams
Use data effectively to inform design decisions
Adaptable to changing situations and requirements
Portfolio demonstrating design process and skills
The following are considered a plus:
Experience designing user experiences for any of the following: industrial systems, automotive technologies, or similar environments
Demonstrated an ability to collaborate with developers and product managers to simplify complex Edge/hardware system interactions
Experience designing experiences that enhance productivity and reduce friction for developers working with Edge/hardware technologies
Experience with agile development
Proven track record of leading design creation and delivering high-quality results on schedule
Experience with open source projects

The salary range for this position is $111,260.00 - $183,580.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
