As a Corporate Development Intern, you will assist in: (i) identification, evaluation, pursuit and execution of acquisition, divestiture, strategic partnership and minority investment opportunities and (ii) transaction due-diligence and integration processes through coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure value-realization targets are achieved. This role provides hands-on experience in development of corporate strategy, business research and analysis, valuation, modeling, due diligence, M&A structuring, and post-merger integration. You will work closely with senior finance team members, gaining valuable insight into corporate development processes. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Assist the Head of Corporate Development with excuting M&A and strategic minority investments: managing due-diligence and integration processes through coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to ensure value-realization targets are achieved 
  • Conduct analyses of key market, customer, competitive, product and technology trends to assess organic and inorganic growth opportunities in attractive industry sectors, technologies and geographies 
  • Apply accounting and financial concepts to research potential acquisition targets, perform rigorous financial valuation analyses, business case modeling and lead due diligence activities across large teams 
  • Prepare presentations and reporting to senior management and Board of Directors on potential M&A transactions and strategic growth initiatives 
  • Perform research, reporting and analysis on M&A activity and strategic partnerships in the industry 
  • Ad-hoc analysis, research, financial modeling, and additional responsibilities as required 

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.  
  • Must be able to work onsite at our Oak Brook, IL office (15 miles west of Chicago) at least three days per week.  
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.  

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.  
  • Interest in financial modeling, valuation, and business strategy.
