Retail Banking Services (RBS) provides simple, convenient and affordable banking and general insurance products and services to personal and private bank customers, helping them manage their everyday banking needs, buy a home, protect their assets or invest for the future.

In the Customer Engagement & Digital team within RBS, we are responsible for leading our retail end-to-end digital-first customer experience strategy, driving innovation, improving customer engagement and creating new business opportunities through partnerships, ventures and the Group’s digital ecosystem.

About the role and team

Sitting in the Engagement and Loyalty Crew within the Digital Experience Domain, this is an opportunity to reimagine and drive the next evolution of our Money Management experience. Working within a Crew who is passionate about delivering simple, light and modern digital experiences that help customers achieve their everyday tasks.

As a Product Owner your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Help develop the Money Management experience strategy and drive its execution.
  • Own the product roadmap and sufficiently prioritise the backlog.
  • Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, day-to-day delivery and agile ceremonies.
  • Lead a hybrid squad of onshore and offshore team members.
  • Identifying, articulating and managing dependencies, risks and compliance across streams of work.
  • Develop metrics and KPI’s and manage the squad’s performance to deliver on these objectives.
  • Measure performance of initiatives, using data and insights to inform optimisations and future opportunities.
  • Accountability for managing incidents, addressing impediments, driving decisions, and resolving escalations.
  • Ideate, design and deliver experiences that provide maximum value to the customer, measure performance and iterate based on data and insights to continually optimise the experience.
  • Collaborate with specialists within and outside the Crew to lead delivery of digital experiences from conception through to delivery and beyond.
  • Acting as the voice of the business and customer and translate this for the team to coordinate a ‘one-team’ approach to problem solving.
  • Providing clear lines of communication with our stakeholders on the product roadmap and prioritisation decisions.
  • Managing senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritisation is understood and agreed to.

We’re interested in hearing from people who are:

  • Strong knowledge in Digital Banking Experiences, specifically any previous money management experience.
  • Experience designing and executing digital experiences (web and app) to deliver business and customer value.
  • Deeply passionate and curious about the ways our customers interact with our different channels, and champion the voice of our customers at every possible chance.
  • Will apply a strong level of pragmatism to balance strategic initiatives with keep-the-lights-on work.
  • Are experienced in definition of product roadmaps, delivery of product vision.
  • Proven experience in influencing work and priorities through stakeholders
  • Proven experience leading teams
  • Experience with Agile methodology, working within an Agile Matrix would be ideal.
  • Prior experience as a product owner.
