Job Description

Nursing Professional Development Spec - Almost Home Kids

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist is a registered nurse who influences professional role competence and professional growth of learners in a variety of settings.  The NPD Specialist supports lifelong learners in an inter-professional environment that facilitates continuous development and learning for the healthcare team. Utilizes or generates new evidence through evidence based practice projects or research.

Full time, salaried. Position will split time as needed between the Chicago and Naperville Almost Home Kids locations.

Min Quals:

  • BSN required. MSN preferred.

  • Master’s degree in adult education preferred.

  • 5+ years of nursing professional development experience in specialty area required.

  • Licensed RN in state of IL.

  • NPD Specialty Certification.

  • Program lead in continuing education programs specific to specialty. 

  • Basic Life Support certification required from the American Heart Association. 

Job Duties:

  • Advances the profession through publications, presentations, and other scholarly work.

  • Demonstrates value of professional development to the healthcare environment through return on investment, enhances quality of care, and improved patient outcomes considering factors related to quality, safety, effectiveness and cost.

  • Actively works to transform processes at the organizational level, utilizing project management and improvement processes.

  • Implements and sustains strategies for professional development and educational initiatives.

  • Other job functions as assigned.

Pay Range

$89,440.00-$147,576.00 Salary
