Pure Storage is seeking to hire a Solutions Architect focused on Converged Architecture Platform Solutions. This individual is a highly technical professional with an in-depth knowledge of the storage industry and the Cisco data center product portfolio (Nexus/MDS/UCS) and Cisco Validated Design Solutions (FlashStack, Flexpod, VersaStack etc) software, hardware (appliances), and tools as well as advanced knowledge of Hypervisor Platforms such as VMWare, Nutanix, Hyper-V or Openshift.

You will work on cross-functional teams to create Full Stack Solutions with Pure Storage and third party technologies as well as the supporting technical content that are targeted to Customers, Field Sales Teams, and Partners. Your cross functional teams will include Product Management, Alliance Partners, Field teams, Marketing and others as the company’s current and future strategies evolve.

What you’ll be doing:

• Influence and execute the solutions roadmap in FlashStack and other CI platform domains through the hypervisor platforms and across a broad range of use-cases.
• Developing technical collateral to highlight Reference Architectures and Best Practices; including, but not limited to, the delivery of Cisco Validated Designs (CVDs)
• Build and demonstrate solutions within our lab using Pure Storage and Third Party technologies from Cisco, Microsoft as well as other current and future Alliance Partners
• Lead projects working with cross-functional teams to build and demonstrate solutions.
• Create technical presentations that support the success of Pure’s customers, field sales teams, and partners.
• Learn and understand the technical strategy in regard to Marketing Requirements Documents (MRD). This may include participating in cross-functional teams to review and influence product roadmaps
• Evangelize the FlashStack Solution both internally and externally to customers/partners/prospects.

Product Knowledge Requirements:

 

Experience with scripting environments, including Ansible, Terraform, and Python, is required.Thorough knowledge of FlashStack SmartConfig, Cisco Intersight, Cisco Data Center Network Manager (DCNM), Cisco Intersight Workload Optimizer (IWO), Cisco Intersight Kubernetes Service (IKS), and Cisco UCS Director is required.

• Including knowledge of UCS boot from SAN, Direct Attach, and Firmware update
• Working knowledge of data center infrastructures and environments, including storage, compute, and networking
• Sound infrastructure knowledge in Linux distributions including virtualization technologies
• Ability to create, architect, and implement a solution in our lab to create demos, a testbed for new products, and benchmarks
• Basic programming knowledge is highly preferred as the role would involve understanding, modifying, and creating automation toolkits to perform and streamline proof of concepts and other studies. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Go is a big plus

 

Education and Experience:

• A minimum of 10  years of experience is required.
• A Bachelor of Science or Masters degree in computer science or related technical discipline; or equivalent experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to have successfully completed multiple, complex technical projects.
• Demonstrated experience in authoring technical white papers as well as project outlining and/or planning is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret performance data from operating systems. Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting is highly desired
• Public speaking skills are required as you will be representing Pure Storage at various industry events.
• High Availability and cross-data center replication knowledge at the application or storage level is a plus
