POSITION SUMMARY

This is a full-time position performing routine housekeeping and changeover tasks on an as-needed basis to prepare for events at the facility.  Most work is performed in public spaces with exposure to the general public.  There is no regular schedule and the candidate must e able to work a variable shift with irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform housekeeping tasks not limited to dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, rest room cleaning, trash removal, carpet extraction, and glass cleaning.
  • Perform setup, breakdown, and changeover tasks as needed.
  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for events (setting up and tearing down tables, chairs, dance floor, staging, other furnishings and equipment).
  • Perform varies duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met including, but not limited to, loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies.
  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety or damage concerns or loss of property promptly to Operations Manager.
  • Perform light maintenance repairs to event setup and cleaning equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor, vertical lifts, golf carts, and other motorized vehicles properly or must be able to complete certification within 45 days of starting date
  • Must possess the ability to read and understand event notes written and communicated in English.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a fast paced environment requiring multi-tasking and overlapping deadlines. Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Must have the ability to walk extended distances for 8-10 hours a day and climb stairs.  Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 - 75 lbs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High School or GED equivalence diploma.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Works well with others; gets along well with others and on teams.
  • Organize and prioritize work from event overviews and task lists to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work, days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends as required.
  • Mechanical aptitude helpful.
